Sun-Times SportsNews Show

Sorry if there is already a topic about this, I didn't see one anywhere.

I just saw in the paper today that some Sox members are going to be at the Sun-Times Sports News show this weekend in Rosemont. I went to their website, but there is no info about how much it cost to get in. I called all the numbers and everybody is out of their office already. Does anyone know this info? Also, does anyone know if the Scott Podsednik tickets are sold out?

I've yet to see a Chicago signing sell out before the day of (they sold Kerry Wood tickets-probably too many-and still took sales). I would encourage you to phone ahead and order now. Admission is pretty much always $10. Park at the nearby CTA lot for a few quarters as opposed to the $10-15 garage parking they have. If you've never been, you;ll have a great time. I'm in for Garcia

Anbody else going to this??Despite the hefty prices, I am really tempted, even though the timing sucks with being right in middle of the Bears game. I wonder if you can get more than 1 Sox player in, all 3 of them are signing at the same time. A Pods signed Sports Illustrated would sure be nice, as well as a nice 14x16 of Jenks jumping after the victory. Hmmmmm, I need to stop brainstorming.

Believe me, these prices are steals given what the landscape will now be given that they are champions. Outside of soxfest (which is even tougher to go to now) you will see fewer free signings than before because there will be demand too. If our team gets much more popular, they may even alter soxfest's autograph situation. I expect HIGH demand and long lines on Sunday. They go by numbers so if you get a low number for one then you have a shot at another. I personally feel getting all three is goign to be impossible but getting two should be doable but not a lock. Its going to be a pretty neat event, probably a ton of Sox championship stuff to be seen

I'm not a Bears fan so I don't mind missing, although this game is intriguing, but I am sorta ticked about not getting to see Cinci-Indi.Hey at least its only regular season and you don't miss playoff games like soxfest attendees do. I love the Sox but I don't know how you can miss playoff games

Went to the sports show last night. Sox players are getting respect from autograph seekers. They added Contreras $99 and Joe Crede $79 for Sunday afternoon.

Pods and Jenks are almost sold out and they are only doing first come first serve for the last of the tickets on Sunday morning at 9:30 am.

I heard from a vendor that they are selling 1500 tickets for autographs for pods. That sounds like a good afternoon of work for him. Other players are at other sites in weeks ahead

Hopefully, the big names will still come to Soxfest and not try to make more money on the side

Usually, the guys are paid for time and not per autograph. It will be something like 15K for 2 hours or something like that. There is no way in my mind that Pods gets to 1500 so if they sell that many, they must have agreed to go overtime already. Thats a lot of money for Joe F'n Crede by the way

On the "Just Added" sign, Joe's original price was crossed off and updated. Wonder if that was an decrease or increase in price. At my first soxfest I felt sorry for Joe as he was the player that seen to have everwhere and working like a dog. Now he is in the big time.

He was on his honeymoon.. which was planned BEFORE he even signed with the Sox.

Then don't list him on the official program for Soxfest and the website promoting he will be there.

I could see the program being printed up far in advance, but the website can be changed.

If he knew so far ahead of time, why was he even on the list?

Bottom line, if the Sox knew he wasn't going to be there, don't promote him being there.

Freddy Garcia cancelled. I'm not real happy

I thought it was cool for the show to let you exchange Garcia's ticket for a Crede ticket though. Did you take advatange of that deal?? Can't beat Rally Crede for half price. Got in line for the show at about 8:35am (I dont know how I woke up), I got tickets for both Pods and Jenks, and they had less than 5 remaining for each when I got up to the booth in line. Word had it they had about 150 tickets for each player on Sunday morning, the auto tickets were all gone by 30 minutes into the show opening. Very cool to meet both of them, they seemed very excited and appreciative in getting to meet the fans after this historic season. Tons of very very expensive and discounted Sox champs gear at the show. It is def a Sox market in the sports collecting workd right now. One guy had 2 champaign bottles that were used in the WS celebration, signed by Ozzie. $1500

More signings coming in the near future.... and the prices don't get any better. Makes me wonder if they will do a "lottery" type thing like the CUbs do for Soxfest this year. Times, they have a changed.

Dye will be at Field of Dreams in Woodfield in Schaumburg soon......

$109 and up.....

Cotts, Politte, Widger, AJ and Blum will be signing at Steiner Sports soon.... LOl

Prices ranging from $39 (cotts/widger) to $59 (AJ)

I didn't take the Crede. I already have him on a card and I'm not a Crede fan so it didn't appeal to me, even if it was a relative bargain. If they weren't out of Pods tickets I would have taken that exchange. I took the Crede ticket and sold it to a woman behind me for $40 so she got the deal.
