sox4lifeinPA
I've never seen any of them (I know, gasp!)... in the middle of Part I. wow. timeless. guinea. what does everyone think about it? It's weird to see scenes that I've heard about, and Don C. is weird to watch with so many parodies out there. A+ so far.

sox4lifeinPA
man, it was so good. I can't wait to see the next one. I knew a little about this one going into it. I won't spoil anything. I hope this inspires people to go out and rent it. A+ film. Damn I miss decent oscar worthy movies.

qwerty
First two are great. The third one gets ripped alot and people say they should have never made it. But imo, if you look at the movie by itself and do not compare it to the other two... that is when you will realize how good it is. The Bones
The DVD Trilogy is on my Christmas List and I've got to say Part II is my favorite. I only first saw them a couple of years ago and was blown away. I think I watched all three on consecutive nights then went back and watched all of the bonus material. Also, I agree with Qwerty that the third one isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. It's got some bad acting by Sofia Coppola and it's definitely not as great as the first 2 but it's still a good movie.

I don't know if you already knew, but in the baptism scene toward the end of the first movie, the baby being baptised is Sofia Coppola. I thought that was kinda cool. knightni
The first one was awesome. (Poor Abe Vigoda) I haven't gotten around to seeing part 2 yet, but I hear that Michael (Pacino) pretty much goes nuts.

Controlled Chaos
I loved one and two. Three was just ok. If you get chance watch The Godfather Saga. After you see part two you'll see all the flashbacks. Well The Godfather Saga puts everything into chronological order starting with Michael as a boy in Italy. Flash Tizzle
Both are excellent films. No wonder Saddam Hussein was a huge fan. Any movie starring Pacino where he isn't endlessly screaming is a plus. Seriously, though--find any Pacino film where he doesn't devote 5 minutes to screaming at the top of his lungs. You'll have one or two. Until last year, I had never seen Godfather 1 or 2 in their entirety. Whenever AMC or SpikeTV would broadcast the movies I'd always tune in near the endings of both films. I recall feeling sorry for Vito Corleone stabbing the old man in his home town--and Michael disposing of you-know-who in the sequel. After viewing the films, and thus understanding the proper context of both events, they were understable. If anyone has yet to watch all three (yes, even three) you're missing out on the several of the greatest films of modern cinema. Every time I try to tell you guys it stinks, and I think I'm finally out. . . THEY KEEP PULLING ME BACK IN!! It's a poor film in comparison to its predecessors. Not bad in itself. I didn't mean to include III among several of the greatest films of modern cinema. Didn't structure my sentence well. I hope no one left for the video store expecting III to be as good as the first two. Anyone doing this will likely get the message when the first two aren't available and several copies remain behind III. afacio
I don't know. Of course part 3 pales in comparison to 1 and 2, and it isn't fair to put them in the same category. That said, I think it stunk even as a stand alone movie. I just don't see any entertainment value in the Vatican. It was like Sopranos season 4 meets Exorcist II the Heretic. Awful IMO. Steve Bartman's my idol
In my most humblest of opinions, The Godfather II is the greatest film ever, a perfect 10. I'd give #1, a 9.5, and #3 a 4 (the first hour was great, the rest dragged, and Sofia Coppola couldn't act her way out of a paper bag!). Yoda
The Godfather, to me, is the best trilogy ever! Well, not really because there is another trilogy out there that I enjoy more. I’ll leave you wondering what trilogy I’m talking about... The Godfather II is better than the 1st. DeNiro, IMO, is very under appreciated for his performance. Without him the film would not be the same. As for Godfather III... I agree with FlaSoxx. Sucked major donkey balls.
