NUKE_CLEVELAND
Is anyone surprised by this? The French didn't oppose the war on moral grounds, they were bought off ( in addition to the fact that they sold weapons to Iraq illegally ). Im waiting for Chirac to admit his level of complicity in this affair.

southsider2k5
The only thing I am shocked about is that he admitted it. I have been talking about this for years now, and only the secondary media seems to care about the stories. Everyone is interested in all things Bush leading up to the war, but no one seems to care what anyone else's motivations and actions were, no matter how criminal they were. This scandal extended into the German, Russian, and Chinese governments too, not to mention the upper echelon of the UN, but no one talks about any of that. Mercy!
I loved his justification: "All trouble is worth a wage." Idiot. And all wages are worthy of being reported to the tax authorities. Oops. I guess he didn’t do that.
LowerCaseRepublican
And you know, as bad as it is/was that he did -- he's got the balls to own up to making a mistake & taking personal responsibility for it unlike certain Presidents/administrations we have now. /snark //drunk And MrEye, why would you expect to find this in the American media? All the American media is not necessarily liberal/conservative -- but they're just f***ing lazy. We get more stories about Katie "I've been indoctrinated into a religion that believes a giant alien named Xenu created the universe" Holmes and Tom Cruise trying to kill Oprah and jump on her couch than we do of things that actually have consequence like items on foreign policy/foreign affairs.
