RockRaines
would you, or wouldnt you. I would assume the M's would pick up some of his contract, but he was quoted in a Japanese newspaper and Timmy K confirmed it on Mike and mike. your thoughts? Steff
I said this a while ago. Dye to 1st, Itchy to RF. I'm down with that.
southsideirish71
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) I said this a while ago. Dye to 1st, Itchy to RF. I'm down with that. A 1,2 punch of Pods and Itchy is pretty compelling up top.

It was said that he feels that clubhouse leader ship is key. If we were somhow able to pull this off with the M's picking up some of his sal. And maybe we re-sign Kong. 1.Pods 2.Ichiro 3.Dye 4.Kong 5.Gooch 6.AJ 7.a-row 8.Crede 9.uribe
GreatScott82
Its not even worth dreaming about. The Mariners will ask for the entire team for Ichiru. However, a 1-2 punch of Pods and Ichiru is druel worthy.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) I said this a while ago. Dye to 1st, Itchy to RF. I'm down with that. Ichiro being the solid defender he is, with the arm and speed he has, I was thinking he could play CF. Send Rowand in a trade, maybe, since he can probably play any OF position. Leave Dye in the outfield, instead of making him learn a new position. I think Ichiro would make an excellent CF, an excellent 2-hole hitter, and an excellent fit in the clubhouse with his work ethic and style of play. Dye is a big boy.. and 1st base is easily adaptable, IMO. Rock, I agree with you on your point as well.
southsider2k5
I'd give up just about anyone except starting pitching and anyone in the pen under 30 years old for Ichiro.

jphat007
Ichiro's not going anywhere. Too much revenue for the Mariners.
Soxbadger
Id love Ichiro, and it would be amazing to have him on the White Sox. Id be willing to move Anderson or another OF prospect, plus other young talent to get the job done. I would not want to trade any SP, outside of El Duque, and anyone in the pen outside of Marte and Vizcaino. Ichiro would just be unbelievable. EvilJester99
You would be insane to not want Ichiro. The things he brings to the table for any team are worth its weight in gold.
Greg The Bull Luzinski
particularly if Konerko were not resigned, I would consider batting Ichiro 3rd.
spataro51
Lets do it! Pods and Ichiro would be best 1 and 2 in the league. Guchi would get his wish of not batting 2nd and he would be ablt to use his power!
Frank the Tank 35
I believe he has 2 years $22 mil left on his contract. Even though he wants to be traded, I think the Mariners will do absolutely everything in their power to keep him. That being said, there are just so many great things and options he brings to the table. We could really trade either Pods or Arow if we wanted (2 lefties at the top of the order? doable I guess...). Normally I'd speculate for another paragraph about the possibilities, but due to the unlikely nature of this occurrence, I digress.
The Bones
I'd be willing to trade for Ichiro just so we don't have to face him. It seems like his BA is about .500 against us.

Punch and Judy Garland
Nobody seems to be mentioning the price. I think that it would be super high. I think they'd ask for Buehrle and B-Mac. There would be a TON of teams lining up to get him. Thats my issue with oogling over that lineup. If we keep that lineup intact then we will be trading away half our rotation to get him. Whitewashed in '05
I am not sure the rumors are he wants to be traded but more that he wants the clubhouse environment to improve. He said he wants to fulfill his contract but just wants the team to improve. Even if he was being shopped Sea would ask an arm and a leg for him. I would imagine a SP with an OF like Anderson. I don't want to touch our SP and Anderson is our future. I am not saying I wouldn't want him, but think of the costs.

knightni
Wow. He would be exactly what Ozzie wants. Offer him an immediate contract extension. Give him 15 mil a year if he wants, he's MORE than worth it. Chris Young, Gio Gonzalez, and Lance Broadway might pique Seattle's interest.
