NorthSideSox72
QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) I heard from a coupla topics that said Carl Everett is gone, but no info. What happened? He was bought out of his option by the club, a few weeks back, around the same time Frank was bought out. But the general concensus at this point seems to be that it's unlikely Carl will be brought back. Frank's buyout was a way to save money and either let him go OR offer him a more appropriate contract. With Carl, it seems like the club is just not interested in bringing him back. But you never know for sure, I suppose, until he signs elsewhere.

Punch and Judy Garland
too early to say about the Everett deals. Obviously they worked as our goals were to win a ring. I still be Frankie Francisco will be a superstud, if not in baseball then in the wwe

Kalapse
Enough with the Everett jokes, they're seriously old and not funny in the least.

However, in all seriousness, it might not be a bad idea come dealine time to trade for him with our current DH situation.

We don't even know our current DH, so I don't know how you can say that so early.
witesoxfan
QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) Rupe has looked pretty solid also. Not to mention Rauch could turn into a decent pitcher at some point in time, and Majewski was a pretty solid reliever for Washington last year. Felix
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) You proved my point for me... By the time the season starts, we could resign Frank, trade for Thome, trade for Delgado, or any other possiblity. Talking about how it would be smart to make a trade in the middle of the season doesn't make sense at all since by that time, anything could have happened to our lineup to make that specific trade a stupid one. Talking about how it would be smart to make a trade in the middle of the season doesn't make sense at all since by that time, anything could have happened to our lineup to make that specific trade a stupid one. the point was that Carl Everett is better than anything we have now, which is nothing. Our options aren't very good for the DH role right now either. Atleast certainly not as good as you try to make them out to be.
Heads22
We acquired Everett about as many times as we aacquire Majewski, who really impressed in Washington. He's a guy who could have easily been in the pen, post-Shingo.
timotime
hey, we will just trade for him later
YASNY
I've heard that the Sox have no interest in bring back Carl. That's ok with me. But, yes, those trades for Everett did work out well. He was a significant part of this team. Regardless of how the players traded away do, this was beneficial to the Sox.
JUGGERNAUT
When you are pursuing Thome .. Everett's the odd man out.
