danman31
QUOTE(farmteam @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) Somewhere, Danman is crying. GBN managed to lose even though Scheyer was unbelievable, at least accoring to the Trib. GBN has always sucked at Proviso for some reason. With that said it took the rest of GBN to shoot horribly, all of Proviso's starters to be in double figures, and their team to shoot almost 60% to beat us by 6. That's scary. I'm not too worried about it because I don't think there are any great teams in the state this year. GBN may be the best team in the state, but wouldn't be most other years IMO. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) Am I the only one who just can't get into high school basketball after graduating? I mean, I played for two years but it's dropped tremendously in importance... That's because Iowa basketball sucks and your school was bad for Iowa basketball. Brian
Warren plays in the semis at Pontiac today at 1pm. If they win and beat Simeon in the finals, they could be the new #1 team in state.
Brian
Warren beats West Aurora 61-56 in the Pontiac semifinals. They play tonight vs. Simeon most likely, but they have to beat Chicago Curie. Edited December 30, 2005 by Brian

Brian
Warren lost to Simeon in the finals at Pontiac, 66-64. Warren has a chance to win or send it to overtime but both attempts rimmed out.

Nokona
On any night just about any team can play with anyone. I think Conant proved that losing to a stacked St. Joes team by 2.
whitesoxin'
2nd ranked Valpo (my school) hosts 8th ranked Munster Saturday night at 7:30. It's going to be a tune up game for getting ready for Lawerance North and Greg Oden at the state finals.

Brian
QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) Scheyer vs Oden Saturday... I'll be there, mainly for the first game of Warren vs. Proviso East, but definetly staing for the night cap.
maggsmaggs
Scheyer is a good player, but in the Central Suburban North, let's be honest he is playing against crap competition--I would know I live around there. Conley defense and Oden's inside presence will give Scheyer fits. I think Scheyer is going to be a solid player at Duke--not for two years thought, but certainly, he is no J.J. Reddick, which some intoxicated Duke fans believe.

I agree, I see mostly Central Suburban South games and it is GBS and some scrub teams. I have only seen GBS 3 times this year and haven't been impressed once. IMO, he will be solid from day one, hes just too smart of a player who moves very well without the ball. He will get his as soon as he gets playing time. Yes I will come back and take my medicine if he sucks his Freshman year.

Brian
Excited about tonight. I'll be watching from press row at Welsh Ryan, SUCKAS!!!! All the hype if for the GBN vs. LN game, no love for Warren and Proviso East.
Brian
Lots of fun tonight at Welsh Ryan. Warren lost 71-70 in OT to Proviso Easy. Jordan Dauton hit a 3 for Warren at the buzzer in regulation and Warren had a 3 point lead with a minute left in OT before making some mistakes. Lawrence North beat GBN by 18. Scheyer had his but GBN was exploited for being a one man team while Lawrence North has a few other guys besides Oden. The point guard who is going to OSU with ODen, Conway I believe, is a top notch player. Without him, Lawrence wouldn't be as good. GBN was the 4th best team on the floor tonight. Carlwell and Oden seemed to be getting the superstar treatment. Carlwell should of had 2 fouls in the first quarter when Warren was going right at him and no whistles. Oden got the benefit of a few continuation calls. Scheyer was all ove rthe place, I just don't think he has any help to win or possibly even get to state.
