whitesoxownyou
Other than Frank Thomas, Aaron was my favorite. I am really down in the dumps and I think this really sucks for Rowand. Anyone else down?
Felix
Aaron + Frank were my top 2 Sox. This deal took them both off of the team (we won't resign Frank now that we have Thome). It really sucks, but life goes on.
White Sox Josh
QUOTE(whitesoxownyou @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Other than Frank Thomas, Aaron was my favorite. I am really down in the dumps and I think this really sucks for Rowand. Anyone else down? This was a great deal for both sides. Rowand will be a hit in Philly especially with his work ethic and Blue Collar Attitude. He will be in Home Run Heaven so his stats should go up. He can become your favorite NL player. SnB
aaron and mark are/were my favorite sox. Once i got past arow being gone, this is a great trade for us.
Princess Dye
i think Aaron's going to be missed most of all because of off-the-field reasons. he had a very unassuming personality...in interviews he was pretty much talking like a fan would. almost a surprising level of honesty in some of his comments. that said, when i look at Rowand and Thome.... when each of them are hitting their best, i cant honestly say there's any comparison. you can replace Rowand's fielding (gasp, yes)... but it's much harder to get your hands on this kind of lefty power. Philly is willing to take on some salary, so Kenny had no choice but to pounce on that. Edited November 23, 2005 by Princess Dye
Antonio Osuna
I no longer have a favorite player on the Sox per se, because it seemed to be a kiss of death. Consider some of these favorite players I've had: 2000: Kelly Wunsch, Herbert Perry 2003: Damaso Marte, Esteban Loaiza, Magglio Ordonez 2004: Shingo Takatsu It just doesn't end up well for these guys. Anyway, I am of the opinion that Rowand's offensive production has already peaked. Was his defense excellent? Yes, though overrated. But is he a superstar out there? No. Edited November 23, 2005 by Antonio Osuna

Antonio Osuna
Oh yeah. Antonio Osuna. I liked that guy. He sucked hard the year after he stole my heart, but not in a White Sox uniform. That's why I forgot to list him.

KevHead0881
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) He will be in Home Run Heaven so his stats should go up. He can become your favorite NL player. Citizens Bank Park is no more of a "Home Run Heaven" than the cell. I wouldn't expect a real stat boost for ARow. Just sayin... That said, I will miss the guy. He played hard and seemed to be an overall great guy. Bottom line though, I believe he was the most replaceable position player that we had. He was a mediocre offensively, and while he was great defensively, I think he was slightly overrated. In the end, Phillie fans will like him for all the reasons we did. Best of luck in Philly, Aaron. 3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
QUOTE(whitesoxownyou @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Other than Frank Thomas, Aaron was my favorite. I am really down in the dumps and I think this really sucks for Rowand. Anyone else down? No, this stuff happens, and he was the most obvious choice of the possibility of one of the players being traded. And I don't think it sucks for Rowand either, he'll still get paid, he still gets his playoff share, and you still don't get any of it. He couldn't hit, bunt, or run the bases fundamentally. He was nice defensively, but so is Anderson. Look at this way, he gets the Sox hatred off from the rest of the media and now actually has a chance to win a gold glove
GoRowand33
Aaron was also my favorite player although it sucks that HE had to be the one that was traded, I have to understand that baseball is a business and people come and go overall I think this was a good deal for both teams, and I wish him well in philly
knightni
It hurt when Baines got traded the first time. It hurt when Ventura wasn't re-signed. It hurt when Black Jack was traded. It really hurt when Hernandez, Alvarez and Darwin got "White Flag"-ged to SF. It hurts when players leave via trades or free agency. But, that's just part of baseball today. AngelasDaddy0427
Don't get too attached to him being on the Philles either... He will be in pin stripes in just a few months...

He will be in pin stripes in just a few months... And yet the Yanks could end up with Jason Michaels if Pat Gillick decides Rowand is the guy he wants to keep. aboz56
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) How did the White Sox not give him respect? He is probably referring to the Lofton signing a few years back when Aaron should have had the CF job yet the Sox signed Lofton because they thought he wasn't ready.
