maggsmaggs
It's probablt be Monday after Thome completes his physical tomorrow, I would assume he would wait till the Holiday Weekend is over.

On Comcast SportsNet, they said that Thome wanted to get to Chicago by tommorow morning to take his physical, but there's nothing but delays on the plane, so he was thinking about driving tonight so he could get here tommorow. GENTLEMEN! This is just the beginning of what winning a World Series does for your ballclub. I don't care if he is from Peoria or not, Thome does not accept a trade to the White Sox if we're not coming off of what we did last year. Kenny and Ozzie have created a South Side beast that is not stopping until it drinks the blood of 31 more ballclubs next year as well and for many years down the line. f***ing rock and roll. man, its good to be a southsider... southsider2k5
They can't have the press confrence until the trade is "official". Everyone has to have their physicals and MLB has to approve the money changing hands in the deal because it is over one million dollars. Especially with this being a holiday weekend, it might take a few days.

Wanne
Thome trade a done deal By Rob Maadi The Associated Press November 25, 2005, 6:21 PM CST PHILDADELPHIA -- The Phillies and the White Sox on Friday completed their deal that sends slugger Jim Thome to the Sox for center fielder Aaron Rowand. The trade was announced on Wednesday, but wasn't official until the players passed their physicals. Philadelphia also gets minor league left-hander Daniel Haigwood and a player to be named later. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Still doesn't specifically mention Gio though.... Nevermind...the ESPN story says it's him... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2236730 Edited November 26, 2005 by Wanne

Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 25, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) Rowand had his today. Can't wait to see Jim's. I watched several clips of Rowand's introduction today, and he did not appear happy. When his jersery was put on, he didn't even crack a smile. Rowand appeared shocked--perhaps the reality of the trade didn't fully hit him until that moment.

OldSox2
Let's see. Our defense is worse, our team speed is worse, our payroll is up, but we opened up some spots in the Birmingham rotation for 2006. The Phillie farm system is now a whole lot better, and ours is worse. We also opened a spot on the major league roster for either Timo or Joe B. Were Everett and Frank that much faster than him? Also, Anderson is supposed to be faster than Rowand.
