daa84
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) The Sox wanted Thome in 2002 when he was a free agent. that smile looks genuine...unlike rowands in philly
SSH2005
Thome has been on a workout program since July to strengthen his back and keep his back troubles away. Ack, Bruce Levine asking a question. Yeah Thome, remind us all how you raped us at the Cell with the Indians. Thome says he wants Konerko here too. He says he doesn't care if he's playing first base or DH'ing. Edited November 28, 2005 by SSH2005
SnB
QUOTE(daa84 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) that smile looks genuine...unlike rowands in philly why wouldn't he be happy? he wanted to come here. I'm loving this whole positivity surrounding the sox and the players in the league

The Critic
He sure says "....for me...." and "like I said" a lot. It's better than "like" or "y'know". He looks damn good in that Sox jersey, though!

RockRaines
Thome "its going to be alot of fun hitting in this park" Who do you already know on this team, and have a good relationship with Thome "Buehrle"

SSH2005
It was funny when Thome tried to cover his ass on being a Cubs fan. Thome said that even though most people from Peoria are Cubs fans, a lot more of them will be Sox fans now that he's here.
Kid Gleason
I loved that bit of honesty on his part about being a Cub fan though! There was a fine sign of him being a stand-up guy. I always liked Thome, but now I love the guy. I FINALLY GET TO CHEER FOR HIM!!! Good luck to Rowand, and I hope he makes millions upon millions in his future! I haven't checked the next years games, do the Sox face the Phils anytime during the interleague?
Rowand44
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) do the Sox face the Phils anytime during the interleague? Nope.
AddisonStSox
Very positive experience. He said all the right things and his enthusiasm looks geniune...ear-to-ear grin throughout and looked awfully good in black pinstripes. He's coming home, playing for what has to be one of the funniest and most respected managers in baseball, and has the opportunity to mesh with a very tight-knit, relaxed clubhouse. How could you not be pumped? Again, welcome aboard Big Guy!
SnB
and i come away from the interview very impressed. He seems like such a genuine guy.......him and buehrle are going to be best friends, they're both such hillbillies.

Thome seems like every bit of a good guy as Rowand is, except he can hit 40+ homers. And we already faced the Phillies in interleague in 2004 at the Cell. And Thome hit 4 homers against us in that 3 game series. Edited November 28, 2005 by SSH2005
SoxFan1
Pretty sweet overall. If Thome helps get PK back, the deal might be the best KW has ever made. Edited November 28, 2005 by SoxFan1

SSH2005
he mashes at the cell <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 41 of his 430 career homers were against the Sox. 18 of them were hit at the Cell. He has crushed us over his career.
heirdog
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) If Thome helps get PK back... If he can guarantee that 5th year at $13 mill per, he could really help get PK back but alas, it will fall to KW and Jerry. Prediction: Thome will be batting clean-up and protecting Dye
