GreatScott82
If the Sox get Myers. I can see a 3-way deal happen between the Marlins, Rangers and Us. We get Pierre Rangers get Marte Marlins get 2 or 3 prospects (including Sweeney)

And if Pierre doesn't work out in the 2 hole- put the Iguchi back there.
hi8is
id be fine with 3 home runs from the 1 - 2 combo if it meant that they would get on base 40% of the time and steal a combined 150 bags... expecially with the RBI machine we're hoping to have in konerko/thome/dye..... that would f***ing rule and if it meant marte and sweeney..... id do it.... even thou sweeney is going to be something special, that kid sure can play and has a beautiful swing that rivals ken griffy jr. edit: funny scott, we came up with the same numbers pretty much at the same time lmao Edited November 30, 2005 by hi8is

Balta1701
I still don't want Pierre. I don't like the idea of trading to get an outfielder when we have plenty of outfielders coming up, I want Anderson's defense out there, and I think it's time to develop Anderson in CF too. That'd be dynamite, if they were capable of it. Neither one has ever had an obp above .380, and Pierre's was .326 last year. Barf. Then on top of it, you want them to average 75 steals between them, when neither's touched 75 steals. If you want to see a really crappy season, don't look at 2005 Marte, look at 2005 Pierre. Pierre's would be a weak hitting, bad fielding, waste of $3 mil. Or $4 mil, $5 mil, whatever he's getting paid.

jackie hayes
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) One bad season doesn't make a player suck. Go check out Konerko's 2003 numbers. Pierre was spectacular before that? He got on base okay for a couple years, but nothing eye-popping, he's almost always had next to nothing in terms of pop, and his defense has long been considered just adequate. He steals bases -- I guess. Even there, at his best he's around 75%, so it's not that big of a help. We powered our way through the playoffs. Who still thinks that sb are more important than obp AND slg AND hr?
