White Sox Josh
Jim Thome should hit his 500th Home Run in 2007 with the Sox assuming he stays healthy. He has 430 Home Runs in his career and if he breaks 500 as a White Sox, has 3 or 4 great seasons, and finishes his career with the Sox he might go into the HOF as a White Sox. knightni
That's not up to him. He'll probably go in as an Indian, since he spent so many years in Cleveland.

Punch and Judy Garland
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) i know what you are saying. Would you rather see Frank retire or hit 500 in another uniform. Rather see him it 500. If he's in another uniform-its because of the Sox and not him. It would be very selfish to want him to retire after we let him go
Whitewashed in '05
Well Frank hasn't gotten it with the sox so Thome isn't really "another" so to speak. Not taking anything away from Thome, but the person I really care about reaching 500 is big Frank. I'll be happy if/when Thome does but he isn't Thomas. Thome will never replace Frank (I am not saying you implied so either.)
G&T
After all the time I spent watching the Sox and Indians play, I really can't believe Thome could possibly get to 500 as a Sox and not Thomas...it's just surreal. I have nothing further to add.

Besides the championship season, seeing Thomas crush #500 with the White Sox would definitley be a good page to add to my White Sox top favorite memories. GoodAsGould
If Thomas signed with the A's how crazy would it be if he hit #500 against us.

Punch and Judy Garland
well if Jermaine Dye in the left side of the infield happened, anything is possible!

I thought I remembered Carlton Fisk deciding on Boston after being on the fence about it.

I thought I remembered Carlton Fisk deciding on Boston after being on the fence about it. Yeah but they took that right away after soem goofy choices. I can't recall who it was that was the straw that broke the back but I know there was fear that Wade Boggs would try to go in as a Devil Ray. It was near that time that they took the chocie away. Kind of dumb to me. As long as a player played there, it should be his choice in my opinion

YASNY
QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 01:46 AM) IIRC, it was in Boggs' contract that he would go in the HOF as a Devil Ray. The HOF stepped in and said, "Not so fast, guys. We'll decide." I believe it was Jose Canseco that first had clause in a contract about the HOF cap. Then, Boggs. DonkeyKongerko
Frank has got some years left in his upper body, just not too sure about his legs. I really think he needs to hit #500 now to find his way into the Hall. I don't care where he hits it and he'll still always be a White Sox to any baseball fan. toasty
question is, if he goes and plays elsewhere, and hits 500, which cap will the HOF use???
