Balta1701
I saw this and just couldn't resist pointing it out. According to ESPN, tonight's game between the Raptors and the Hawks is the most pathetic meeting ever to take place in NBA History based on team records. The Atlanta Hawks host the Toronto Raptors tonight and, if records are the measuring stick, it's the worst regular-season match-up in NBA history. The Hawks are 2-12. The Raptors are 1-15. The combined 3-27 winning percentage is .100 and, according to ESPN Research, that is the lowest in league history (based on a minimum of 30 games played). The remarkable thing is...their combined winning percentage is guaranteed to increase tonight, because 1 team is guaranteed a win.
Palehosefan
The Hawks are a giant joke of an organization. They have no idea what they are doing. Drafting Marvin Williams when you really need a pg and 3 great PG's are sitting right in your range. Hiring Mike Woodson to coach one of the youngest teams in the league, when his style is confrontational and he's already almost gotten into a fight with Marvin Williams and Josh Childress. Then getting Joe Johnson and sticking him at the point. BRILLIANT.
GoodAsGould
They suck but the Hawks have a lot of young guys fun to watch Josh Smith, Childress, Marvin Williams, and Salim Stoudemire. I guess the raptors got Chris Bosh?
Palehosefan
Charlie Villenueva is also having a nice rookie campaign for the Raptors, and I'm not gonna lie, it comes as a great shock to me. I've always thought of him as a tweener with no strongsuit.
WilliamTell
I seem to remember then the Grizzlies were 0-7 in their expansion year facing the 0-7 Phoenix Suns. The Grizzlies got their first win and the Suns went to 0-14 before they rallied to make the playoffs. During the game SportsCenter had this funny voice talking and you could hear a commentator say, "Somebody's gotta win here tonight."
DonkeyKongerko
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) The remarkable thing is...their combined winning percentage is guaranteed to increase tonight, because 1 team is guaranteed a win. Actually would that be so remarkable? Any time two teams meet with a combined winning percentage of less than .500, that combined percentage will be guaranteed to increase. WilliamTell
It actually turned out to be a good game. Toronto won 102-101. Edited December 3, 2005 by WilliamTell
