NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) The only potential saving grace if they lose is that they'll seriously consider making a change at QB. They should do it anyway. Theres no f***ing reason in the world they should be struggling with a s*** team like the Packers.

illinilaw08
I have been an Orton supporter for much of the year, making excuses for him, "he's a rookie, managing the game well" etc with the only game that I had a real complaint about was the Bengals game. Today however I cannot make excuses for him. This was not managing the game, this was the defense bailing him out over and over again. Now, I am not writing Orton off because rookie QBs do struggle in the NFL, but if the Bears make noise in the postseason it will be in spite of Orton not because of him. Moose will be double covered. This is why the Bears need to draft a Receiver with the first pick. He has no Receiving talent around him if Moose is double covered and that is what has been going on. White Sox Josh
Anybody who thinks Rex Grossman is a big uprgrade over Orton is delusional. How do we know that Grossman isn't a clone of Josh McCown. You know maybe throw for a ton of yards but also throws a ton of Interceptions. Grossman's stats are a lot like McCown's. I am sorry but Rex Grossman is not a saving grace for this team. He isn't even 100% healthy.

If you seriously think Orton's problems revolve around having no WR's to throw to, then you don't know much baout football. He's a rookie and struggles are to be expected. However, this team is winning in spite of him and not b/c of him. With Orton, you know you're getting the league's worst QB statistically. With Grossman, you don't know what you're getting. The question is: is he worse than Orton. Common sense says no, but the coaches will determine that.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) why? Because thats all they ever do. White Sox Josh
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Ok Mrs. Orton Shut Up! All of you blind Grossman supporters should realize that he isn't even healthy enough to start. You want Jeff Blake over Orton? Because Grossman coming in right now isn't even a f***ing valid option. Grossman is healthy enough to be a 3rd String QB that is it.
nitetrain8601
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Because thats all they ever do. How many high picks have we wasted in the last 10 years trying to draft the next Walter Payton? I think the Bears will draft a WR (the wrong one; e.g. Dez White) or probably trade down for multiple picks. It's the Jerry Angelo school of thinking. Did you see what i posted? Grossman isn't even ready to become a 2nd String QB yet. He is ready to play in an emergency. If he did come in probably every play would be a run and he wouldn't pass the ball.

You said the reason Orton sucked is b/c his WR's suck. I simply pointed out that you were wrong. And, I went on further to say that only the coaches really and truly know if Grossman is ready and able to take over for Grossman.
