hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) Which part didn't you agree with? Like I've said before a million times, he is pretty f***ing far from a scoring option. People say that he's not a worthwhile investment because he has no offensive upside. That's my beef. You know that.
hammerhead johnson
Yep, now we have to rely on Ben Gordon with Kirk out for perhaps the rest of the game.
maggsmaggs
Tyson's scoring: 02-03: 9.2 ppg 03-04: 6.1 ppg 04-05: 8.0 ppg 05-06: 5.8 ppg 6 points per game from a 7-1 guy, plus he is averaging less than one block per game at 7-1!! Tell me this guy is worth $10 million or even 6 million. His defesive is good, not great, his offensive is horrible.

Never mind how often his weak frame gets pushed around. Weak frame in comparison to a lot of these gargantuan space-wasting centers in the NBA? I agree. He's a PF right now, and like I've said before, he'll be the guy containing the Garnetts, Stoudamires, Duncans, Brands, etc of the world. That is much more valuable to us than guarding the Ostertags, Mihms, and Pachulias.

maggsmaggs
a couple days or 1-2 weeks, really depends on he feels tomorrow and after the more extensive examination tomorrow.

hammerhead johnson
Maggs, I see that you erased your post, but here's my take anyway: Chandler is the hardest working Bull on the court outside of Kirk Hinrich. You can also make an argument for Duhon. You can question Tyson's offense all you want, but the minute you call out his work ethic, you know that I have to question whether or not you've been watching these games. So 1st you're going to say that we get rid of Gordon because he has no offense. But when we talk about Chandler, who is the opposite, we should be patient??? What's your stance? hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 04:31 AM) So 1st you're going to say that we get rid of Gordon because he has no offense. But when we talk about Chandler, who is the opposite, we should be patient??? What's your stance? What is Gordon's upside? He is an undersized combo guard who can't play defense worth a s***, takes more stupid shots than just about anyone else that I can think of, etc. He obviously can't play the PG slot properly as he is a selfish, shoot-first type player with below average ball-handling skills. He can't play SG because he's a f***ing midget out of that slot. You tell me what to look for in the future. What I see is crap.
Chisoxfn
f***ing pathetic. Gordon goes and shoots us out of the game in the 2nd half. He could at least take some quality shots. The only reason we were in that game was because Deng was playing agressive offensively and getting some good looks (and earning them too). I hate our offense when Gordon is on the court. The ball movement ends and he either shoots you into the game or out. Hell, has anyone ever noticed that even when Gordon is totally on fire (and this happens often) the team doesn't really see its lead extend much. Its because he's f***ing hideous on defense and will turn the ball over a few times a game on offense (if he was a starter it would be even worse). Hell we even had to deal with him as the PG for a few minutes which made things even worse. Ben Gordon's got to go. I don't know what his upside is. Obviously he could score 30 points a night if he was a starter and shot all day long, but he has no idea how to let an offense run and he's a boob of a passer and terrible defensively. The Bulls have some problems but they would have been better had they drafted both Igu and Deng. Thank goodness we have Deng. The good news is I think Gordon has pretty high trade value, I just wonder whether the Bulls will be agressive and gutsy enough to deal Gordon (I know they'd hate to have them bite em in the ass) but what the hell can Gordon do? Tell me of one player whose won his team an NBA championship with a PG's height but a Sg's mentality who can't play any defense and has no idea how to work an offense (don't say AI because AI can at least play some defense and knows how to get to the line, plus last I looked his team has made one NBA championship and will never ever win a thing with him and that guy has more heart than anyone in the NBA). Fact is this team will go nowhere with Gordon. If you can package him and Tim Thomas for someone good (I don't know if thats possible) or even move Gordon for a bigger young player (whom the Bulls like) in a straight up type swap I'd do it. It would allow Hinrich to go back to point and we could have Duhon coming off the bench with Deng and whoever we got for Ben starting (with Noc coming off the bench). Plus it makes even more sense when you picture Peja over here.
