Kid Gleason
QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Id like to nominate some Lenny Kravitz I wish that I could fly into the sky so very high just like a dragonfly Do dragonflys ever get more than a few feet off the ground? Seriously. As for REM's "Stand", I do believe that their intent was to write the dumbest song they could. It was a bit of a "thumbing of the nose" at all the people trying to figure out their songs and taking their stuff so serious. So they wrote the most idiotic thing they could. I know for years it killed them that it became such a huge hit, because it was meant to be a joke, and all of a sudden it was HUGE and they couldn't escape it. Controlled Chaos
Barenaked Ladies has to be in here for this gem Pinch Me It's the perfect time of year Somewhere far away from here I feel fine enough I guess Considering everything's a mess There's a restaraunt down the street Where hungry people like to eat I could walk but I'll just drive It's colder than it looks outside It's like a dream you try to remember- but it's gone Then you Try to scream, but it only comes out as a yawn When you Try to see the world beyond your front door Take your time 'cause the way I rhyme's gonna make you smile When you Realize that a guy my size's might take a while Just to Try to figure out what all this is for. It's the perfect time of day To throw all your cares away Put the sprinkler on the lawn And run through with my gym shorts on Take a drink right from the hose And change into some drier clothes Climb the stairs up to my room Sleep away the afternoon It's like a dream you try to remember- but it's gone Then you Try to scream, but it only comes out as a yawn When you Try to see the world beyond your front door Take your time 'cause the way I rhyme's gonna make you smile When you Realize that a guy my size's might take a while Just to Try to figure out what all this is for. Pinch Me, Pinch Me 'Cause I'm still asleep Please God, tell me That I'm still asleep On an evening such as this (yo) It's hard to tell if I exist (yo, right, if I-) Pack the car and leave this town Who'll notice that I'm not around? I can hide out under there I just made you say "underwear" I can leave, but I'll just stay All my stuff's here anyway It's like a dream you try to remember- but it's gone Then you Try to scream, but it only comes out as a yawn When you Try to see the world beyond your front door Take your time 'cause the way I rhyme's gonna make you smile When you Realize that a guy my size's might take a while Just to Try to figure out what all this is for. (Pinch Me) Try to figure out what all this is for. (Pinch Me) Try to see the world beyond your front door. (Pinch Me) Yrt to figure out what all this is for. bmags
You cut me down a tree and brought it back to me and that’s what made me see where I was going wrong You put me on a shelf and kept me for yourself I can only blame myself, you can only blame me and I could write a song a hundred miles long Well that’s where I belong and you belong with me and I could write it down or spread it all around Get lost and then get found or swallowed in the sea You put me on a line and hung me out to dry Darling that’s when I decided to go to see you You cut me down to size and opened up my eyes Made me realize what I could not see and I could write a book, the one they'll say that shook the world and then it took, it took it back from me and I could write it down and spread it all around Get lost and then get found and you'll come back to me Not swallowed in the sea Oohhhhh Ahhhhhh and I could write a song a hundred miles long Well that’s where I belong and you belong with me The streets you’re walking on, a thousand houses long Well that’s where I belong and you belong with me Oh what good is it to live with nothing left to give Forget but not forgive, not loving all you see Oh the streets you’re walking on a thousand houses long Well that’s where I belong and you belong with me Not swallowed in the sea You belong with me, not swallowed in the sea Yeah you belong with me Not swallowed in the sea. oh, i thought we were looking for worst lyrics of all time, my bad
Rex Kickass
Macarthur Park Spring was never waiting for us till it ran one step ahead as we followed in the dance. Between the parted pages we were pressed, in love's hot, fevered iron like a striped pair of pants. Mac Arthur's Park is melting in the dark all the sweet green icing flowing down someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it and I'll never have that recipe again Oh, nooo! I recall the yellow cotton dress foaming like a wave on the ground beneath your knees birds like tender babies in your hands and the old men playing Chinese checkers by the trees Mac Arthur Park's is melting in the dark all the sweet green icing flowing down someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it and I'll never have that recipe again Oh, nooo! There'll be another song for me and I will sing it there'll be another dream for me someone will bring it I will drink the wine while it is warn and never let you catch me looking at the sun, oh yeah and after all the loves of my life after all loves in my life you'll be the one I will take my life into my hands and I will use it I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it I will have the things that I desire and my passion flow like rivers through the sky oh and after all the loves in my life after all the loves in my life you'll still be the one and I'll ask myself why. Mac Arthur's Park is melting in the dark all the sweet green icing flowing down someone left the cake out in the rain I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it and I'll never have that recipe again Oh, nooo! Mercy!
To keep this on the political track – the Captain and Tennille actually sang this mess at the White House, at a state dinner for Queen Elizabeth II. Muskrat Love by Captain & Tennille Words and Music: Willis Alan Ramsay Muskrat, muskrat candlelight Doin’ the town and doin’ it right In the evenin’ It’s pretty pleasin’ Muskrat susie, muskrat sam Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land And they shimmy And sammy’s so skinny And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed Singin’ and jingin’ the jango Floatin’ like the heavens above It looks like muskrat love Nibbling on bacon, chewin’ on cheese Sammy says to susie honey, would you please be my missus? And she say yes With her kisses And now he’s ticklin’ her fancy Rubbin’ her toes Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes As they wriggle, and sue starts to giggle And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed Singin’ and jingin’ the jango Floatin’ like the heavens above It looks like muskrat love
Controlled Chaos
Isn't there some song about abercrombie and fitch or something??? oh and this one...by Alkaline Trio Shaking like a dog s***tin' razorblades, Waking up next to nothing after dreaming of you and me I'm waking up all alone, waking up so relieved While you're taking your time with apologies, I'm making my plans for revenge. Red eyes on orange horizons If columbus was wrong I'd drive straight off the edge. I'd drive straight off the edge. Taking your own life with boredom, I'm taking my own life with wine - It helps you to rule out the sorrow, It helps me to empty my mind. Making the most of a bad time I'm smoking the brains from my head Leaving the coal calling the kettle black and orange and red This kettle is seeing red. I've got a big fat f***in' bone to pick with you my darling. In case you haven't heard I'm sick and tired of trying. I wish you would take my radio to bathe with you, Plugged in and ready to fall. Shaking like a dog s***tin' razorblades, Waking up next to nothing after dreaming of you and me I'm waking up all alone, waking up so relieved While you're taking your time with apologies, I'm planning out my revenge. Red eyes on orange horizons If columbus was wrong I'd drive straight off the edge. I'm seeing red. I've got a big fat f***in' bone to pick with you my darling. In case you haven't heard I'm sick and tired of trying. I wish you would take my radio to bathe with you, Plugged in and ready to fall. Plugged in and ready to fall. Plugged in and ready to fall. Pauly8509CWS
Since I'm a DMB fan, I'm gonna poke fun at my own kind of music.... Dreamgirl- I would dig a hole all the way to China Unless, of course, I was there Then I’d dig my way home If by digging I could steal The wind from the sails of the greedy men who will rule the world Still, you’re my best friend And after a good, good drunk You and me wake up and make love After a deep sleep Where I was dreaming, I was dreaming you were A dream girl A dream girl Dream girl Dream girl Angel- I call you up You pick up You call my bluff On the cards of love You hold to close Your hands to your chest I can’t read your eyes But I confess It’s lonely far from you Even when you’re right by me It’s only why I wait for you Take my hand yeah Why do I beg like a child For your candy Why do I come after you Like I do I love you Whatever you are I swear You’ll be my angel You Most of the songs on Everyday are bad, the new CD has some songs with s***ty lyrics as well.... Texsox
How about a little Chicago flavor from Paperlace The Night Chicago Died Lyrics Daddy was a cop On the East Side of Chicago Back in the USA Back in the bad old days In the heat of a summer night In the land of the dollar bill When the town of Chicago died And they talk about it still When a man named Al Capone Tried to make that town his own And he called his gang to war Against the forces of the law I heard my momma cry I heard her pray the night Chicago died Brother, what a night it really was Brother, what a fight it really was Glory be I heard my momma cry I heard her pray the night Chicago died Brother, what a night the people saw Brother, what a fight the people saw Yes, indeed And the sound of the battle rang Through the streets of the old East Side 'Til the last of the hoodlum gang Had surrendered up or died There was shouting in the street And the sound of running feet And I asked someone who said 'Bout a hundred cops are dead I heard my momma cry I heard her pray the night Chicago died Brother, what a night it really was Brother, what a fight it really was Glory be I heard my momma cry I heard her pray the night Chicago died Brother, what a night the people saw Brother, what a fight the people saw Yes, indeed Then there was no sound at all But the clock up on the wall Then the door burst open wide And my daddy stepped inside And he kissed my momma's face Then brushed her tears away I heard my momma cry I heard her pray the night Chicago died Brother, what a night it really was Brother, what a fight it really was Glory be I heard my momma cry I heard her pray the night Chicago died Brother, what a night the people saw Brother, what a fight the people saw Yes, indeed The night Chicago died The night Chicago died Brother, what a night it really was Brother, what a fight it really was Glory be The night Chicago died The night Chicago died
