Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 12:05 AM) I had read about the Pacers looking at him in a couple of articles. Here's one of them, where it's just mentioned as a blurb: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketba...4p-315971c.html This 'feud' was one I hadn't heard of until I heard it on ESPN and in some NY publication, so I'm guessing it's typical NY made up garbage. There was another article though, I'll look through my history, the source was more credible. Anyways, those are the guys I'd be willing to part with (along with draft picks or other dead weight, like Pike). I still don't think it's going to happen. I just don't think Pax is the kind of guy that likes the risk, but it would greatly improved the team. I think Ron would fit in well, as when he talked about wanting to be traded, he felt that the Pacers practices "weren't hard enough for him", and didn't like that Carlisle called a majority of the offensive plays. Too bad Nene isn't healthy. I'd do a deal Gordon for him in a second.
Kyyle23
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) Too bad Nene isn't healthy. I'd do a deal Gordon for him in a second. Why? So the Bulls can also lament about his potential while he sits entire seasons on the bench? I think not. The problem with Nene is that he is never healthy. jenksd
How about Gordon, Thomas, Sweetney one 1st round pick this year, 1 next year. for Artest, Bender, Croshere, future 2nd salaries match, and Indiana would be able to unload salary, get 3-4 young talented players and an expiring contract. or Gordon, Chandler, Thomas, Othella for Artest, Croshere, Bender, Pollard
greasywheels121
It's not happening, and Bender's probably not playing ever again.

greasywheels121
Ron Artest has definitely turned his back on this franchise and its fans. For some reason, we all supported him during that embarassment last year, and he's potentially trying to throw away another season for Indiana. There's no way the Pacers are going to get as much as they could, if this request happened during the offseason. And my send off to Artest: f*** you. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 07:58 AM) How can anyone look at what Isiah Thomas has done with the Knicks and want to go to that team? This just further proves that Artest is insane Nene is a lot more than just potential. He's a legitimate center who's been stuck behind guys like Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin. The guy has got a lot of skills. I'd love to have him. You could move Chandler back to the 4 where he's much better. Then you could move Sweetney to the bench where he can really put up some numbers against other team's reserves.

3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
According to ESPNEWS, the Pacers' phone is ringing off the hook, and they're asking for a young stud and an expiring contract. This would go along with my Gordon and Thomas proposal, especially if the Pacers were seriously looking at Ben. The problem, as I expected, is the Pacers don't want to trade him to the East (according to Marc Stein), and the main players right now are the Lakers and the Nuggets. Who do they have to offer though? Odom/Kenyon Martin? Those guys are decent, but not 'young studs'.
greasywheels121
There's some rumor of it being a trade with the Magic: Pacers receive: Steve Francis, Bo Outlaw, and a future first round pick Magic receive: Artest, Tinsley, and Eddie Gill I'd like it, if it were to be true. qwerty
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) There's some rumor of it being a trade with the Magic: Pacers receive: Steve Francis, Bo Outlaw, and a future first round pick Magic receive: Artest, Tinsley, and Eddie Gill I'd like it, if it were to be true. Why would you like it? Francis is a sloppy baseketball player, not known for being a team leader type guy, and most definitely not a smooth point guard. Outlaw is crap all that's really in it for you is the first round pick. Artest is far and away the best player in the deal. Tinsley is also the better point guard of the two ( francis and himself). You guys woud be losing so much defense ( which is why the pacers are so good)... it's not even funny. There is a reason rocket and majik fans always want francis gone. greasywheels121
The Pacers will never win any deal involving Artest in the regular season. I'd like you to try to give me a listed rumor in where they will. It's impossible with the timing Artest threw this bomb, and that's why he's a d-bag. And Artest is simply not going to work in Indiana anymore, after what he did. He f***ed us last year, and he's doing it again.

Steve's actually been ok so far this season in Brian Hill's princeton offense, but you know long - term it's going to be hard to have him not being the focal point on offense with Dwight Howard. I still think we may have to trade one of our PG's for a good young big though. Probably Jameer Nelson, unless we moved Tinsley in another deal. So our lineup if this happens; Tinsley, Artest, Hill, Howard, Battie. Bench - Nelson, Dooling, Stevenson, Hedo, Cato. Looks pretty good. DBAHO
That future 1st round pick could be Fran Vazquez as well. Apparently Larry Bird has been scouting guys in Spain for the last few days, Fran included.

Because they're saying only a couple of the deals of the dozen or so have even All-Star caliber players. This one is probably close to or possibly at the top of the list as far as the talent they get back, unless they just opt for expiring contracts. Artest is going to be far-and-away the best player in any trade because every GM knows the Pacers have to and desperately want to unload him within the next few days. It sounds like Jermaine absolutely hates him, and I'm sure the rest of the team and organization feel about the same.
