Felix
QUOTE(toasty @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 02:08 AM) didnt you know that they were talking about alomar SR??? Except then saying that they played against the Marlins in the WS wouldn't make sense, since the Marlins weren't around in '77. Either way, this article loses! SSH2005
http://dailynews.com/sports/ci_3298682 Veteran catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. signed a one-year contract with the Dodgers on Saturday, agreeing to become their backup catcher for 2006 and a mentor to starter Dioner Navarro. Financial terms of Alomar's deal were not disclosed, but it is believed to carry a $650,000 base salary - the same amount the Dodgers paid journeyman catcher Paul Bako last season to appear in 13 games before a knee injury ended his season May 26. Alomar's contract also contains a handful of incentives that probably are based on games played and far beyond the reach of what club officials have in mind for him. I like TJ Simers's LAT quote this morning..."This just proves my theory that a warm body could easily have replaced Jason Phillips"
