witesoxfan
Probably a good career move for him. Reunites him with Matheny and allows him to pitch in one of the best pitcher's parks in the majors. For all the garbage moves Sabean has made over the past few years...this one is actually pretty good.
sayitaintso
If the Giants stay healthy next year and get Morris to help out their starting staff, i would favor them to take the NL West over any other team in that division.
Punch and Judy Garland
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) If the Giants stay healthy next year and get Morris to help out their starting staff, i would favor them to take the NL West over any other team in that division. He'll be an excellent number 2. The key for the Giants (besides Barry) will be if they get 60 starts out of Schmidt and Morris

SSH2005
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-g...ov=ap&type=lgns The free agent right-hander agreed to a $27 million, three-year contract with the Giants, leaving the St. Louis Cardinals after nine seasons. The deal has been in the works for weeks and became official after Morris passed a physical Monday morning. "I'm ecstatic to be here," Morris said when formally introduced at the city's waterfront ballpark. "I appreciate the organization for having the interest in me. That really showed me a lot, even though (they) didn't know this was my first choice." He will receive a $2 million signing bonus at the end of his contract and is scheduled to make $5 million next season and $9.5 million in both 2007 and '08. The contract contains a $9 million club option for a fourth season that could go up to as much as $11 million with escalators based on performance. He would receive a $1 million buyout if the option is declined. I can see why Garland wants to wait a year for free agency. :puke

I don't like it, but I would be doing the same thing
