Dick Allen
I don't have access to espn radio, but am I correct that trading for Tejada is pure speculation at this point. That discussions at least as far as Levine knows, haven't taken place?
fathom
BTW, what else has Levine said? Just from the recap I read above, it doesn't sound like he has inside info that the Sox really are going after Tejada.

"Sox interested in Tejada" based on Levine saying that they could give the best package for him? I should toast your ass for this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was a joke, but that is what Levine does. The report is exactly what I stated in the first post of this thread. Levine thinks that the Sox could put together the best package for Tejada. ESPN 1000 reported that the Sox offer could be McCarthy, Uribe, and prospect(s) for Tejada. I know I'm not the only one who heard this. mmmmmbeeer
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) Levine is basically saying that the Sox could probably beat any package out there for Tejada if they want to because they have a good combination of prospects and established players to trade. so it sounds more like this is his opinion as opposed to any solid rumor? I do this deal in a heartbeat, and Juan is one of my favorite players on the Sox. McCarthy is going to be very good, no denying that. But... Pods Gooch Kong Thome Miggy Dye AJ Crede Anderson beat the living hell out of Pods Gooch Carl Kong Dye A-Row AJ Crede Uribe This move would allow us to keep Gooch batting in the 2 hole being we'd have no need for more power lower in the order. Gooch has proven he can do one hell of a job in that slot. That's just a monster line-up...potentially 160 long balls from the 3-6 slots. Pitching MB JC FG JG JV beats the living hell out of MB FG JC JG OH/BM We're upgrading our SP from last season. The bullpen is the only decrease in quality. Miggy is just as good, if not better, defensively than juan. Anderson, according to those in the know, is just as good in CF, if not better, than A-Row. So defense could feasibly improve from last season, when we finished 2nd in MLB.

SSH2005
ESPN just did their sports update. Levine said that the Sox could offer a starter, Juan Uribe, and prospects for Tejada so I guess it could be Garland or McCarthy. You can't blame him. Its on the other board too. Levine made it sound as if the deal he threw together off the top of his head, was imminent. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That he did, and Jonathan Hood didn't help much either. Regardless, I titled the thread "Sox interested in Tejada!!!", not "Sox trade for Tejada!!!" Edited December 14, 2005 by SSH2005

JR is pumping that money back into the team. We're not going for 1 championship, we're going for a dynasty. It's the only way JR knows how to build. Guest JimH
For the record, I heard the exact same report Jabroni did, I would have posted the same thread but he is the fastest gun in Chicagoland. Jonathan Hood said it in the sports updates in the 8 a.m. hour, and threw it live to Levine, who said the White Sox were putting together a package of McCarthy, Uribe, and a prospect for Tejada. So he was not misleading, that's what was said. Now the tune on AM1000 has changed a bit. They are now saying "a starter" instead of McCarthy by name. fathom
So I take it Levine didn't have any information regarding possible trades involving Garland, besides for Tejada?
