Blalock wouldn't hit third, and if he did, something is wrong. Blalock would probably hit 6th or 7th, while Gooch hit in the other one (6th or 7th).

He would probably bat either 3rd or 6th.

I'd think Konerko and Thome have 4 and 5....Dye could bat 3rd like he did in the playoffs, but if not there's no other choice unless they move Konerko up to 3, which I think they all want to avoid.

Podsednik (lefty)

Iguchi (righty)

Thome (lefty)

Konerko (righty)

Blalock (lefty)

Dye (righty)

Pierzynski (lefty)

Uribe (righty)

Anderson (righty)

You could swap Uribe and Anderson.

If you want left righty matchups then you go with the best left hander in the 3rd spot. Blalock doesn't get on base enough to hit in the 3rd spot.

Pods

Uribe

Thome

Konerko

Dye

Blalock

Iguchi

Pierzynski

Anderson

If Uribe is hitting 2nd and Blalock is on the team, I believe Ozzie goes with this lineup. (switch Blalock with Dye if you want, but I believe Ozzie will opt to keep Dye there)

This could work as well, but with a lineup this powerful, I'm not overly concerned with the lefty-righty matchups...

Also, I thought the whole idea of bringing in Thome was to offer protection to Konerko ?

I thought it was to offer protection if Konerko left. Thome was brought in because we didn't have a 3 hitter last year.

He did offer protection as another power hitter/1B if Konerko left, but Kenny Williams did tell Konerko that he was after Thome regardless.

I just struggle with Thome as a #3 hitter. He strikes out a ton, and hasn't hit for a great average in the last couple years. Personally, I like him as a protector to Konerko.....

He's not a good enough hitter to hit 3rd.

Thats the lineup I would go with if the Sox traded for him, although I would think about moving Gooch to 6th, and Blalock to 7th.

DODGERS

Edwin jackson and Delwyn Young

Shoot higher like Joel Guzman, Johnathon Broxton. Broxton matches Jenks with a 100+ MPH Fastball and a devasting slider (his best pitch). Guzman looks to be blocked at ss by Ceaser Isturis and at 3rd by top prospect Andy LaRoche.

Don't forget about Furcal, bham. Right now Izuris and Guzman are both blocked by Rafael.

Yeah thanks for reminding me I totally forgot Furcal, Guzman is 21 next season and put up near SL MVP numbers and something that caught my eye is he homered over all 3 sets of boards to left for his last ab of the game then the next AB he homered over all 3 sets of boards to Right. He actually hit more homeruns (6) at the Met than any of the Barons.

According to my source, Guzman makes B.J. Upton look like a Gold Glove infielder.  Guzman projects as either a LF, RF, or 1B.

Agree on both counts he can pick it well at SS and he is a big kid 6-6 but for some reason LA wants him to play the left side of the infield.

I thought Young had 9 or so.

Carlos Lee went a full season without one.

Left Field and 3rd base are completely different.

Edit: holy s***, I'm only 25 pages too late. Nevermind.

I've heard the same, though I'd like to try him at 2B first where his bat would still be a huge asset. -- He'll get to the majors as quickly as his bat can get him there, however, so he'll probably wind up at one of the corners. (See: Daric Barton or in recent White Sox history Carlos Lee)

I'd rather have crede and tejada

I'd rather have Uribe and Chone Figgins.

I wonder if the Angels would be interested in a trade involving Garland and Figgins? Figgins could start in CF for the Sox but also play 3B, 2B and a little SS. With him and Mackowiak on the team Ozzie would have a lot of flexibility and they could even carry 12 pitchers or a third catcher if so desired.

I did hear of this. I am going to take a lot of flack, but I do not want Crede to go. I can say g-bye to Garland but not Joe. I am all for the Tejada trade with Garland and Uribe, but not Joe. I know Joe has Boras for an agent and that means KW won't deal. Crede's defense is stellar, and he comes through every time offensively when we need it. A normal at bat will be a pop out, but when we need to tie or we need a walk off he has done it! I am sure there are more things to consider than what I see, in fact I know, but that is something I feel strongly about. Crede needs to stay. I think anything he may lack is made up for in the moments that are critical. That has been what I have seen, especially this year. Crede in the clutch is worth it.

interesting, but i think i remember figgins signing to a sizable deal recently. i could be wrong about figgins contract, but anaheim would be foolish to let him go. it would be great to have him with the sox, and id gladly trade garland for figgins, but i dont think it will happen.

PIPE DREAM!!
