sircaffey
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) No problem night. Each has played 3 full seasons now. Blalock has more RBI's, more HR's, more doubles, more walks, and more runs scored. Maybe Hank just doesn't perform great on the road in general. If those who are implying he would be terrible in Chicago just because he doesnt hit as well out of Texas needs to realize some players just don't perform well on the road no matter where their home park is located. Hank is young, signed cheaply long-term, has enormous potential, and is injury free. He's much better than Joe Crede.
Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) Yes, look at those numbers considering Blalock has batted 3rd/4th in each of those 3 seasons while Joe has been put in the #9 slot. Just some info on baseball, in the #9 slot, you're less likely to get more RBI's than the guy in the 3-4-5 spots. In fact, has there ever been a #9 hitter who has had more RBI's than a #3-4-5?? Also, Blalock's protection is Texieria and Soriano. Crede's protection is Podsednik and Uribe. Which explains the RBI's, but Blalock still puts a hurt on the ball. I could argue his away stats all day with you, but bottom line is that he is better on the road then Crede is at home. What did Crede hit at the Cell last year, like .220 something? Yeah but there also is a big difference between 3B and LF. Blalock prob isnt as good as Crede but he is still above avg. and id say he has a better arm. OilCan
Lemme get this straight. We could get Hank Blalock...Hank effin' Blalock, allegedly?!?!?!? You think that Jim Thome is going to put a hurtin' on those right field bleachers?!?!? Wait until you see Hammerin' Hank get a piece of the action. And whoever is saying that Hank stinks at the 3b bag must be on something. Hank has played numerous games straight without an error, and his range is comparable to Joe's. Plus, Hank hits for more power, a little higher BA and is a lefty hitter, something that the Sox could add to their prominent right-hitting lineup. I say go for it. And if the Rangers are allegedly throwing in a top prospect, all the more better.

fathom
I just read this thread, and I can't believe people would actually be upset if this happened. Blalock is better than Crede, and Wilkerson would be an upgrade in CF. It's that simple...we can afford to give up Garland right now. Also, Crede will make more money once he becomes a FA than the deal Blalock is on right now.
