Looks like the Red Sox box set has 1 game per dvd.  Their boxset is 12 dvds, has every game of the ALCS (7) and World Series (4) the 12th dvd is a bonus dvd with locker room and parade footage.  With the White Sox box set at 7 dvds, it looks like we'll get every World Series game (4), they'll probably use 1 of the remaining dvds for bonus features with locker room and parade footage, that leaves us with 2 left.  Clinching game against Boston and Anahiem?? That would be my bet.....

Sounds like a winner to me.

No way could they fit 12 games onto 7 dvds...

especially considering one of the games was basically two.  I highly doubt they will have all full games in their entirety besides the World Series games and perhaps Game 5 of the ALCS.  The tile of the box set is "White Sox World Series" not "Playoffs"

They could do it if they used Dual-Discs.

How do you know?  I can't find anything on that ad that says this.

What about the postgame stuff?

Edit - I think I see the link now.

its the 4 World Series games. that is it. Thus the title World Series. It will NOT include ALDS or ALCS games.

Not saying you're right or wrong, but the title "2005 World Series" doesn't necessarily mean its only the 4 World Series games. The Red Sox set was titled "2004 World Series Collector's Edition", yet included all 7 ALCS games.

Personally, I'm thinking we get the 4 World Series games, and a couple other significant ones (the clinchers?). With it only being 7 DVD's, getting the entire playoffs ain't happening. Needless to say, I'll be buying it anyway.

I honestly can't wait for this. Literally. I'm taping all the games as they replay them on Comcast. But the damn TV guide is a crappy one and I turned on teh TV an hour late, didn't get AJ's Homer in the first on tape, which u have to admit, was almost the most exciting moment in the playoffs. It was like "YES! Sox are gonna do it this time!" Maybe I'll wait for this after all.

I see that I'm in the minority here, but I don't really have any interest in having DVDs of every playoff game in their entirety. The WS and Sox Pride DVDs pretty much cover it for me. I just don't see myself watching every game on DVD often enough to want to buy this set. Not knocking anyone who DOES want them, just saying it's not for me.

Same here, and if I do want to watch them, I'll just watch the .mpg's I recorded while the games were going on in real time. Its free, and I already removed the commercials :P

  • 3 weeks later...

I just wanted you guys to be the first to know that A&E Home Video and Major League Baseball have a White Sox World Series 7 DVD Box Set releasing this spring. It features all four complete unedited games of the world series victories over the Astros (similar to the one put out last year for Boston). Plus the clinching ALDS game 3 verses the Red Sox, ALCS game 5 verses the Angels. Other material included will be stats, player interviews and post game celebrations.
