SSH2005
Latest News Dec. 20, 2005 - 7:34 pm et Red Sox non-tendered RHP Chad Bradford. We'd take Bradford's achy back over Rudy Seanez's history of arm problems any day of the week, and the Red Sox could have easily kept both. Maybe they'll just re-sign him, but we doubt it. maggsmaggs
He was pretty good with us a while back. I would welcome him back for a year or two.
Sox It To Em
In their neverending quest to reunite the 2000 Sox bullpen, I suspect the Cubs will pick him up.
ChWRoCk2
Id be happy to have him back, we could use a veteran arm in the pen, and a reliever in general after losing marte and viz
bulokis
I would take Bradford back.
DBAHO
I wonder if there's any bad blood b/w Bradford and us, from when we traded him. Hopefully that isn't the case, but I think a team more desperate for bullpen help (e.g Cincinatti) will offer him a better deal.
GoodAsGould
Than we can write a book and dedicate a whole chapter on how after we let him go we resigned him because he is the greatest reliever ever!

We're in trouble. Oprah wants to read that book for her Book Club.

VAfan
Bradford's righty/lefty splits were pretty bad last year. I think the Sox would be better off stocking the back end of their pen with guys who can pitch an entire inning instead of a batter or two. Otherwise Cotts and Politte will never get a day's rest. He has always been bad against lefties but he's really good against righties.
Felix
Another player with a bad back. Would fit in well on the Sox

Chisoxfn
I'll pass on Bradford. Specialty right handed relievers are worthless, imo (Ie guys that can only pitch to righties).

timotime
bradford sucks. he used to get rocked all the time when he was with us. i'll take any pitcher we have as a middle reliever right now over his submarine ass.
Heads22
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) I'll pass on Bradford. Specialty right handed relievers are worthless, imo (Ie guys that can only pitch to righties). s***, if there's a need for a ROOGY, you say you've got an awesome curve, right Jas? Before his injury woes, I would've said yes, but like Jason said, there's not much need for a specialty righty, especially if we do get rid of Garland....we could use a long reliever in that instance. DBAHO
This makes sense for both parties; The Mets were in contact with the agent for Chad Bradford after the reliever was non-tendered by the Red Sox. If he signs with the Mets, Bradford would be reunited with former A's pitching coach Rick Peterson. Dec. 22 - 4:30 am et
