whitesoxfan101
Btw, the Sophs beat the Rooks 106-96 last night. Springfield, Illinois native Andre Iguodala won MVP by scoring 30 points, most noteably with 4 three pointers and several highlight reel dunks. Former Illini Luther Head had 18 points to lead the Rookie team, including a play where he threw the ball off the backboard in mid air to himself for a layup (too bad he didn't do that AND dunk it like he did in the NYC vs. Chicago game his senior year of HS). (BTW, I'm not a big dunk contest guy anymore, but I'll watch tomorrow. A field of Hakim Warrick Josh Smith, Nate Robinson, and Andre Iguodala could put on quite a show). Jordan4life_2007
Francis for Odom? LMAO! I'd do that trade yesterday if I'm Orlando. Odom at his worst will get you 15/9/4. Get him away from the biggest ballhog in the league and you'll probably see the Odom of 2004. Something like 18/10/6. We already know what Francis is. A selfish, shoot first, ballhog with the basketball I.Q. of a pumpkin. He and Kobe would be a terrible fit. Howard, Darko and Odom has the makings of an excellent front-line. whitesoxfan101
My goodness, I didn't think about that. Darko, Odom, Howard up front....yikes that could be the best frontcourt in the game in a couple years.

DBAHO
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) My goodness, I didn't think about that. Darko, Odom, Howard up front....yikes that could be the best frontcourt in the game in a couple years. And I'm thinking at the moment even if we got this caproom for the off-seasons of 06 and 07, is it a guarantee that we'd get to sign a player as good as Lamar Odom? Can the Magic afford to take that risk again after the Grant Hill fiasco? Odom would be ideal as a SF for us. He'd stretch the floor, and he's quick enough to guard SF's around the league. It would send Hedo back to the bench, which is the best role for him as well. But Odom could also play PF, which would be handy if Darko didn't pan out, so Dwight could just move to center. Where it would leave Grant Hill I don't know. He would probably have to move to SG maybe even some PG, if he wasn't traded (but I think there'll still be interest in him since his contract finishes at the end of next season). DBAHO
Even Shaq gets it; "As long as Steve Francis is there doing what he's doing, Dwight Howard won't get any better," O'Neal said before Sunday's All-Star Game. "I'm not saying (Francis should be traded), but you know . . . He's gotta get the ball. "He doesn't need to be groomed, he needs to be fed. He's gotta get the ball. All that (Francis') dribbling between the legs, I don't know."

hammerhead johnson
Ahh, so Shaq has taken a liking to Baby Dwight. Maybe he's getting smarter in his old age. Last I heard, he was supporting guys like Eddy Curry.

Kobe drove Nick Van Axel or whatevr out of LA too and him with Eddie Jones plus Shaq is a good team still. Are you kidding me. Nick Van drove himself out of pretty much everywhere he went. The guy was a total attitude problem. Eddie Jones was dealt to get a shooter. Phil wanted a guy that could shoot and he got that in Glen Rice. People tend to forget that Glen Rice played a really key role in at least one of there championships. On a sidenote, you do realize when Nick the Prick got dumped it was only Kobe's 2nd year. Kobe was looking like a real good future player, but he didn't have any clout in the organization. Got, what a ridiculous ass argument. Also, Nick had a bad contract to boot. And Kobe still had no say when Eddie was shipped out a year later (after Kobe's 3rd season).

Kobe wasn't the ballhog then he is now. Kobe singlehandedly cost the Lakers in 2004 with his selfish ballhogging and crazy shot selection. And you could've put any of the top perimiter players with a prime Shaq and they would've won titles. And please don't say what about Shaq and Penny. One, they were together for like 3 years. Two, they had to go up against Hakeem and Jordan. Edited February 20, 2006 by Jordan4life_2006

He liked Denver and they just traded him because they thought they were getting a better deal at the time. He was traded from Dallas as a business deal. Jones was traded solely because of Shaq and Kobe from what I know. They really didn't get along back then(don't know about now) and Buss loved Kobe's charisma. Rice was had because they couldn't get Pippen which is what drove Glen crazy in LA and the sole reason he left LA.

Rice was driven out of LA cause he started to suck and his wife wouldn't ever shut the hell up. She drove the organization nuts. Your full of it on Eddie Jones. He was very well liked by the organization and it was a tough trade to make but one they felt had to be made. They also unloaded Elden Cambell who had a pretty bad contract in that deal. Kobe haters...stop making up s*** just for the sake of trying to slam Kobe. There are a lot of things you can slam him for, but most of the s*** you haters post is just ridiculous. GoodAsGould
or maybe your just a Kobe lover .... honestly I dont care that much but I still think Nick Van Axel, Eddie Jones, and Shaq could of won one because Shaq was just so dominant. I think you're too in love with Kobe. Rice wasn't driven out. He was a FA IIRC and he left because Phil wanted him to be Pippen and was mad that they couldn't get Pippen. There's even quotes somewhere about that. Don't let your love for the Lakers blind you. Eddie Jones wasn't liked by either Shaq and Kobe and Buss liked him, but preferred Kobe. Shaq was the one who most bumped heads with Eddie Jones. None of that is made up. It was in the media at one time or the other. Don't let your Lakers love/Kobe love blind you man. His wife shot off her mouth continuosly and Rice started to play terribly, especially in the playoffs. Kobe had ZERO say at that point in time. Maybe Shaq didn't like him, but it had nothing to do with Kobe. The traded did give Kobe more playing time because they felt Rice was more of a true SF while Eddie Jones was more of a SG, which was what Kobe played. "Jackson has never wanted Glen, he's always wanted somebody like Scottie Pippen, and this is his way of getting back at management for not letting him make a trade," said Christina. "This is Jackson's way of showing the people on top of him who is in control. It's crazy." I would venture to say that his wife added as the mouthpiece. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/buck/jun00/...t15s1061500.asp Edited February 20, 2006 by nitetrain8601
