RME JICO
I thought this was a pretty interesting perspective about the Sox in 2005 from a Cub's fan. I assume there are many more like him. http://baseballanalysts.com/archives/2005/...windy_citys.php

kevin57
Nicely done article... except he refers to the Sox victory as "lifting the curse." For a non-Chicago to say that word in reference to the Sox is dumb. For a Chicagoan to say that about the Sox is ignorant.

knightni
I think our troll fella there is a sox fan. He was complaining that you copied the article from his site or something.
Texsox
The price of success and future success, will be casual fans attending 2 or 3 games when before they never attended. There will be families from Winnetka dropping by for a weekend day game, tourists who decide to add a Sox game to their vacation, corporate types entertaining, all these people, and the Cub converts, need to be welcomed and encouraged. That is how we draw 3 million year after year.
Cleats67
Nice article, however, I am suprised more of you didn't catch the fact that he makes out like he was a big time Cub fan for years who was "converted" this year. If he was such a big Cub fan, why would he have a Carlos Lee jersey from 4 years ago? Call me crazy, but I am a diehard Sox fan and it would be a cold day in hell before I ever purchased ANY type of Cubs merchandise, (outside of Cubs toilet paper) let alone a jersey, EVER. I think all true Sox fans would feel the same way.

I agree though, I have never been a Cubs fan and will never be one.
