VenomSox
Who do you think the bears will be on the bears radar. I do not really follow college football that much.
dasox24
I think they'll most definitely look at taking a TE in the 1st round. i.e. Mercedes Lewis, Vernon Davis, Leonard Pope. Also, look for them to take an OL or two at some point in the draft. They need to stockpile for the future w/ our OL being fairly old. Lastly, if Azumah isn't resigned, then I think they'll take a CB somewhat early to take his spot. Greatest need = TE and OL Medium need = WR, LB, QB Least need = S, DL, HB, FB, K, P
White Sox Josh
I want them to take the Pope and a WR. Probably Jason Avant will still be there in the 2nd Round.

maggsmaggs
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) Vernon Davis please. ^^^^^^^^ dude is workout freak who still produces on the field. 6-3, 253 lbs. 4.4 speed and only 3% body fat. He is what this offense needs to go to the next level meaning top 15 in the league. We have a great O-line, plenty of RB's and our receivers are starting to look like something. Gage and Berrain have emerged as solid #3's. Moose is still pretty good despite the drops this year. We need a #2, is that Bradley coming off injury or do we need to add someone else? Felix
I don't think Vernon Davis is going to make it to the Bears, but I definitely see them taking Marcedes Lewis.

Kalapse
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) Vernon Davis please. Vernon Davis has shot up most everyone's draft board, as of right now he'd go before Lewis.

GoodAsGould
From the sounds of it Davis and Lewis would both be an impact TE so I dont really care which one we get as long as 1 of them fall to us. If we can actually have a weapon at that position our offense might actually be pretty good especially with the recent emergence of Gage/Berrian. Punch and Judy Garland
Yeah I think Desmond Clark needs to go or move to back up. Why have the Bears never (in recent history anyways) properly emphasized the TE position? You would think a ball control team that passes conservatively would value the spot. Pittsburgh didn't always but looked what Heath Miller did for them. I think they won't draft Lewis due to his blocking issues but it wouldn't stop me from taking him
DukeNukeEm
Vernon Davis is the best possbile player.

Probably laugh because they have far more important positions (basically an entire defense) to fill. Also need a lot of help on the O-line. southsideirish
No doubt about it. It will be either Vernon Davis or Marcedes Lewis. One of them will be there and the Bears will be thrilled with either one.
southsideirish
Will Vince Young declare? If he does, then who takes him? I think Arizona takes him.
Palehosefan
If Texas wins, then Vince is gone. But otherwise I don't see him leaving, as Mack managed to keep guys like Derrick Johnson, and Cedric Benson 4 years. As for where he would go, I would think both the Jets and the Raiders would give him a look before Arizona could get to him. Even the Saints could be interested in him if he has a great combine. Palehosefan
I know I'm just about alone, but I'm far from sold on Matt Leinart. He's had ridiculous weapons at USC, doesn't have anything more than average arm strength, and gets most of his compliments on his "intagibles". Basing a top 5 pick on "intagibles" really bothers me. I've seen scouts stating he's the next Tom Brady, but along with the heart, Tom also has a very nice arm to get the ball to the receivers. I've seen too many lefties come into the league being touted as the next Steve Young, with only average arm strength, and totally bust. Even Chris Simms had a stronger arm coming out. I'm not saying Leinart will be a bust, I just don't think he's worthy of a top 3 pick, if he fell to 6 with the Raiders, I think it would work out well for everyone. Honestly, I think his stock will fall a little at the combines which could put him available for the Raiders.

Honestly, I think his stock will fall a little at the combines which could put him available for the Raiders. Aaron Rogers was projected to be a possible top 5 pick as well, and look what happened to him. If a team doesn't have a huge need for a quarterback, they may be better off trying to just sign one or trade for one (given the Rivers/Brees situation) and figure they're going to improve more with the pro-bowl Lineman or linebacker or whatever else. knightni
Leinart's got that Danny Wuerffel/Gino Toretta vibe about him. Vince Young will go to NO if he comes out. A lot of Texas fans will follow the Saints, especially if they end up in San Antonio.

If you pass on them and they turn out great, your fanbase will never allow you to forget it. I know thats probably not the best way to go about making a pick but it is indeed a factor
