SSH2005
Hmmm, I thought he was close to being an Oriole... The Pirates are close to signing Jeromy Burnitz to a two-year, $12 million contract, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. No matter the source, it's still an awful contract. We'd like to see some explanation over what happened to the deal with the Orioles. According to the Post-Gazette, the Pirates have a better offer on the table than either the O's or Astros. It's certainly a better proposal than the Pirates were willing to give him last year, when he chose a one-year deal from the Cubs. GoodAsGould
What did he exactly do last season to deserve a 12 million dollar contract... I kind of like watching the Pirates but they seem to be getting worse not better.
The Critic
I thought the Baltimore deal was done? Either way, The Fake Babe Ruth is going to be looking up at a LOT of teams in his division's standings in 2006. But he'll be cashing large checks, so I'm sure he won't care too much how his team does.
witesoxfan
Atleast BJ Ryan is good. What a horrible move by Pittsburgh.
DBAHO
Dave Littlefield is getting desperate. You knew they wanted a power hitting corner OF, but at least he's gotta be good right?
