RockRaines
I had a pretty lengthy debate with a co-worker today about where the best steak in the city of chicago is served. Much popularity goes to the Chop House, but I find that many people have bad things to say about it as well. being that I have eaten at pretty much a large majority of the steak establishments in chicago, I would have to say my favorite considering all aspects of atmosphere, price, menu, and sides, would be Phil Stefani's followed closely by Mortons. What is yours?

Dick Allen
I like the Chop House, Sullivan's makes a nice steak. My brother sends me some steaks every year from the supplier of most of the steakhouses, Allen brothers I believe, so my favorite steak is one I make on my 20 year old basic Weber. Controlled Chaos
Here's one many of you have probably never heard of, but the steak I had there was TOP notch and it's definitely worth a shot. My wife also raved about the Cedar Planked Salmon. Finley's Grill Room I've been to all the big ones, Ruth's Chris, Mortons, Gibsons, Smith and Wollensky, Sullivans, Wildfire. I won't knock those cause to me a steak is like sex. Even if it's not great, it's still pretty dam good, but Finley's is my new favorite!! It tastes better I want to try the Chop House, but never have... Out of where I have been I like Capial Grille and Ruth Chris's a lot. Chisoxfn
Ruth Chris and Mortons (in that order). Oh and Ruth Chris Potatoes Au Grautin = AMAZING. I don't ever buy steaks unless I'm at one of those two places (which is maybe once a year). Otherwise I pick up my steaks at Costco and cook em on the grill. I'm a chicken, seafood or ribs guy if I eat out. Whats everyone's favorite cuts of steak: I go with Porterhouse, New York Strip, and Rib Eye
Steff
I used to like Ruth Chris.. but had a bad experience in Mexico and can't get past trying them again. There really are so many good steak places out there.

I like Phils because of the bone in ribeye, but for my money, i prefer a prime rib.
Cknolls
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) Gibson's Would not go back. I do not know why they ask you how you would like your steak cooked, because it seems like they cook every steak to medium. I like Morton's Ruth's Chris and On the cheaper end costwise but not quality wise Golden Steer in Forest Park.
