I just wanted you guys to be the first to know that A&E Home Video and Major League Baseball have a White Sox World Series 7 DVD Box Set releasing this spring. It features all four complete unedited games of the world series victories over the Astros (similar to the one put out last year for Boston). Plus the clinching ALDS game 3 verses the Red Sox, ALCS game 5 verses the Angels. Other material included will be stats, player interviews and post game celebrations. Edited by newvideo

It was never officialy stated that the other clinching games were to be in this.

It was never offficial but it was widely semi-known. Here's the thread. Ya, I know, nothign official, but we all pretty much knew 7 discs wouldnt hold 12 games.

Didn't the Boston package include the entire ALCS and the WS? That is 11 games, so it sucks that we are only going to get 6 games.

So no 14-2 pounding of BOS in Game 1, or the comeback in Game 2 (Gooch HR), or back to back to back to back CG's vs Anaheim?

I would have paid the extra money for all 12 games.

Agreed...things could change...I could see a complete set come out.

Has the # of discs ever been confirmed by someone other than an anonymous post on a message board?

I keep hearing 7 but have never seen it on Amazon or anyplace like that. Even the flyer that came in the World Series DVD doesn't say.

It is listed here without a description:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CRR392/

and here it says 7 Discs:

http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000CRR392/

The original link is the US Amazon which has it for $62.99 available March 28th. The Red Sox had 12 Discs (11 games+other stuff) for $103.99. So based off the price reduction of $41, it would seem that the set will include only 7 discs.

I just don't see why they are not including the other 6 games. There were so many classic games that will not be on there, which is BS IMO.

I wouldn't hold your breath on a full or 2nd edition coming out. Hell, there was no guarantee that we would even get a box set like this at all, I'm extremely pumped that we at least get this. MLB and A&E only started doing boxsets like this 2 years ago. The Yankees and BoSox are the only other teams to have sucha boxset. The perks continue to roll in..... as it has been, feeling good to be king.

I agree...this is great. I just would love be able to watch the 1st inning of the Boston series, whenever I want. Nothing like a good old ass-beating. :fight :cheers

Our entire varsity baseball team watched that game in the African-American history room. The White Sox playoff games were our "Fall Practices." :headbang

I'm guessing that we don't get the full ALCS in this set because our ALCS victory was not a dramatic come back from being down 3-0 against the Great Yankees.

Yeah, Boston got the full ALCS because I think to them beating the Yankees was probably as good as winning the WS.

We are not. We are only getting the clinching games of the ALDS and ALCS, then the 4 WS games. 6 out of 12. I just wish it was the entire playoffs, it would have only been one more game than the Red Sox package.

My grammar is always right sometimes!  :P

As long as you keep the majority of your grammitcal errors to a minimum, you will be incorrectly grammatically proficient.
