hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) You're both wrong. Edgerrin James and Larry Johnson get stuffed the least. I can provide proof of this if you'd like. You missed the point too. I said AT OR NEAR THE GOAL LINE and not all goal-to-go situations. There is a pretty obvious difference there. I was clearly talking about SHORT YARDAGE situations, not 1st and Goal from the 10 or whatever. 16 for 16 on 3rd and 1 should tell people all that they need to know. hammerhead johnson
I'm not even a Shaun Alexander fan. I don't go out of my way to catch Seattle games. I HAVE ZERO BIAS. I'm trying to call it like I see it. It's clear that Dam8610 is bitter that it didn't go to some Colts player. He might not admit to it, but we all know that it's true. I'd have had absolutely no problem with any one of these players winning the MVP: Carson Palmer Peyton Manning Tom Brady Shaun Alexander Tiki Barber Larry Johnson (despite the missed games) Edgerrin James Steve Smith You wouldn't see me arguing against any of them because I don't have the nerve or bias to do so. You'd see me defending them, kind of like what I'm doing with Alexander right now. And it's starting to get old, too. Let's say that Dam8610 was a Seahawks fan, and Edgerrin James won the MVP. He'd be calling it an absolute travesty. Am I wrong?

hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Yeah but if you want to compare O-Lines the Chiefs is >> Seattle. There is no question that the Chiefs have the best O-Line in the NFL. Seattle and Indianapolis are both in the Top 5. And you will find people out there who say that Larry Johnson is not as good as his numbers would indicate because of the Chiefs O-Line. But if you happen to catch some Chiefs games, the guy is just magnificent.
WilliamTell
The running backs in KC rely on the O-Line. In 2004 Priest Holmes, Derrick Blaylock, and Larry Johnson all ran for over 100 yards in one game, and it might have been 150, I can't remember but it was the first time in history that 3 different running backs ran for that many on 1 team in 1 season. Right, but now they have a guy in Larry Johnson who could go to just about any butt team (Texans, Lions) and absolutely dominate. That guy is insanely gifted. He'd be calling it an absolute travesty. Am I wrong? No. Honestly, I wouldn't have been as upset with it had any of the aforementioned players other than Alexander had won the award. I just don't see him as the Most Valuable Player in the league, as all he did was run the ball behind a great offensive line. Plug just about any NFL RB in that spot and they're probably going for 1200-1300 yards and 12-15 TDs at least, especially with their schedule. If he was even an all purpose back I wouldn't have a problem with it, but he does nothing but run the ball against bad teams behind future hall of famers, and that earns a MVP award? I don't think such a season is worthy of a MVP award, regardless of what record he broke.
