Heads22
He's playing with ***** Craig Brackins who is coming to Iowa State......the player he says he most looks up to. The Cyclones have been tied with Brewster and a few of their players. Let's see if McDermott can close in on this one. It'd be pretty sweet to give Kansas some competition in the North again. Fizer was the only five-star recruit in school history to ever suit up at Iowa State. I think we've proven we can beat you guys with less. Either way, would you rather Kansas State or Mizzou was the other team at the top of the North? At least Iowa State has been near the top of the basketball world in the past 10 years. Rex Hudler
Does anyone have access to Rivals? Can someone check to see which school Doug Wiggins picked tonight? He is a 4-star athlete from Florida and announced at his HS banquet tonight. I am traveling and can't remember my rivals password, so I can't access it. The info would be much appreciated. whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Dec 22, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) Is this statement directed at Notre Dame? Because if it is you are a fool, I will take a top 3 class and winning more than 2 games a year. And just so you know, Harrison Smith who is annoucing today has been considered an ND lean and as is Chris Donald. Both reign from Tennesee and that would make a clean sweep for ND of their big three. Lets just remember, Zook also has to coach these recruits. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that Wilson can kiss the chance at a BCS bowl every year away. Weis>>>Zook Well that extended rant was pretty pointless. The fact that the waddler can't beat a 2-10 team for any recruits is almost as frightening as Illinois will be with all these players. Oh, and enjoy your slow bad defenses, since that's all you'll see as long as Weis is there. Anybody with talent will be playing for his offense. Oh, and enjoy your slow bad defenses, since that's all you'll see as long as Weis is there. Anybody with talent will be playing for his offense. Is it your goal to attack every poster who isn't a fan of UI? It is clear that you still don't understand how recruiting works. In todays college football you see a lot more parity especially with the restrictions on scholarships. This means that top players will not always pick the traditional powers, especially if they can guarantee themselves a starting spot and/or would rather stay close to home. So you make a big deal out of something that really isn't rare in college football recruiting today(like I said you know very little about recruiting). Furthermore, UI has 3 great players(Benn, Wilson, McCray) and mostly hamburgers after that, so please quit pretending that the UI recruiting class is the 2nd coming. Even with 3 great players, the UI doesn't even crack Rivals top 10 recruiting classes(which just goes to show how bad the rest of the class is). In order to sustain consistent success in college football you need both quality and quantity(which UI is lacking). Plus, it has already been pointed out that Zook has a history of not getting the most out of the talent that he brings in, so how about you wait until the UI wins more than 2 games before you start singing his praise. Finally, I think ND fans will manage just fine considering they will likely end up with the #3 class in the country, which follows the #6 class last year(not to mention a BSC bowl for the 2nd year in a row). In regards to the lack of speed on defense, ND currently has Neal(DE) 4.7, Nagel(LB) 4.55, Paskorz(LB) 4.6, Gray(CB) 4.5, and Smith(S) 4.4 as verballed defensive recruits(possible Tate at CB with 4.4). I would say those are some fast defensive recruits. Not to mention that they are still in the running for other speedy defensive recruits like Martin(DE) 4.55, Donald(LB) 4.6, Edwards(LB) 4.65, MSmith(S/LB) 4.4, Williams(S) 4.65, and Wright(S) 4.5. Maybe you should check your facts before you open your mouth? ps...Learn to accept the fact that some people don't like the UI, but that alone doesn't make them stupid or their points worthless! I wouldn't count on seeing much of it on defense, but you are right about the speed improvements. Problem is, most of them will be used on offense since that is what Weis does. So, no, no Top 3 for you, and IMO, Chris Walker is a better prospect than Golden Tate, which would make TN have 2/3 of the state's Top 3. You got so f'n lucky w/ Smith too. If he weren't from Knoxville, he would have gone to TN, but he wanted to get out of his hometown in the end. So, if not for the location factor, Weis would have left the state w/ only Tate, who TN wasn't really recruiting that heavily, though I do believe that was a mistake on our part, as I think he'll be a very solid player. I hate using what I'm about to say, but I was talking to Chris Walker (mentioned in my last post), and he said Donald and him are good buddies, and said that they both want to attend the same school. So, now that Walker has verbaled to Tennessee, he said Donald wants to too.

So, now that Walker has verbaled to Tennessee, he said Donald wants to too. I would be careful with those guarantees! Insiders for ND think he is Irish and insiders for Tenn think he is a Vol. He has stated that his mind is already made up though, so he isn't leaning either way he is either Irish or a Vol at this point. He also stated that no one besides his family knows of his decision at this point, which is why both sides think he is theirs, but neither side knows for sure. Point being is that I highly doubt Walker knows where Donald is going and is simple stating what he would like Donald to do, but at this point it really doesn't matter since Donald's decision is already made. No one knows for sure, so to make a guarantee at this point holds little water and will only set yourself up for disappointment. With that said, my gut tells me that he will end up at Tenn next year(this coming from an Irish fan), but I won't make a guarantee since this is one of the recruits that I am truly not sure about. Chisoxfn
Iowa signed these 3 guys to letter of intent for bball: Dairese Gary from Concord HS in Elkhart, IN, forward Jake Kelly from Carmel HS in Carmel, IN and forward Jarryd Cole from Winnetonka HS in Kansas City, MO. Those are 07 recruits (all 3 stars). All are pretty good looking recruits that join an already strong recruiting class Alford has going. Negedu will be key though as he's an Iowa lean and one of the top recruits in the country. Our 08 class consists of two 4 star recruits that are early comitts. We have the makings of a top 10 recruiting class in 08 if those guys come around and we can get one or two more of the guys we have on our list. This team has just two seniors so it was inevitable we'd see some ups and downs but we need to see Tate develop quickly because Iowa has two guys that can shoot (Smith and Haluska and Smith is one heck of an athlete) but no one else has stepped up. I want to see this team improve and grind its way to a .500 big ten record (I don't know if thats capable though). And my bad on Bernstein, I was thinking of someone else.
