He's gonna be a nail biter until he signs it sounds like. And wow, Wisky football has been cleaning house lately in recruiting, 5 verbals in the last week and 7 in the last two weeks. Rex Hudler
Looks like Michigan may be getting commitments from Stonum and McGuffie as soon as this week. McGuffie is set to visit Ann Arbor on Thursday. Pulling those two out of Texas would be a huge get.
Heads22
I heard something interesting about Iowa State and Tyler Zeller....."it seems strange that ISU wouldn't have offered their backup plan for Zeller yet...maybe we have a better chance than we think." maggsmaggs
Garrett Goebel has Illinois is his top four along with West Virginia, OSU, and Michigan. Illinois is back in after not being in a week and ND is out. With Pocic going to Illinois, I think Garret took a second look and his visit over the weekend was very good. I think Illinois/OSU are the favs (which is pretty much widely speculated) now. I give Illinois a great shot and if they get Goebel, I would not be surprised to see Filer go too, who is close with both Pocic and Goebel. Zook is da man. chimpy2121
Just to give you guys a clue on how solid Pocic is to UofI: he already added class of 2012 Illinois to his facebook, many different Illini players as friends, and groups like Fighting Illini Football: 2008 Big Ten Champs, and Ron Zook Fan Club. I know it's just facebook, but it seems like he is completely solid with the Illini. Edited June 27, 2007 by chimpy2121

Foster wants to committ to Illinois, but wants to wait till the end of the week to see if ND or Michigan offers. I am not worried about ND with him because he say earlier he does not want to go to another Catholic school, but Michigan is always a tough school to beat. I still like Illinois with him. He is just plain and simple a sick athlete, 6'4", 225 lbs. and runs a 4.4-40 yard dash. Sign him up as a Martez Wilson hyrbid player, OLB/DE. Yep, and supposedly, he's a bit more down on OSU than before b/c they may have pushed him a little too hard to commit when he visited, and he didn't like that. Hopefully, Pocic pulls him in along with Filer. That would be one hell of a coup in-state. This recruiting class for Illinois could be even deeper than last year's. Zook is the man. Good thing I'm a Tennessee fan and can still root for Illinois since they rarely compete for the same players. We'll get our fair share of 4 and 5 star recruits here at UT... If I attended ND, for example, it may be more of a problem. Edited June 27, 2007 by dasox24
chimpy2121
Sweet another possible black eye for FSU... This is a brief overview and I'm sure more details will come out in tomorrow's story. But basically, the five players that were together last weekend - Vincent Williams, Avis Commack, Nigel Carr, Moses McCray, and Nick Moody - were dropped off at Disney Village one night. After a while some Disney security guards gave them a hard time and eventually issued trespass citations. According to the couple people I talked to, the group was just hanging around but at one point nearly 15 security guards and police dogs came up on them and they were cited and escorted out of the park. Apparently, one or more have been banned from being on a Disney property forever. I haven't heard Disney's side of the story, but know the Sentinel interviewed Disney representatives so I'm sure we'll hear their side as well. But from the kids and their parents point of view, this is a case where five large black kids were just hanging out and Disney racially profiled them and took inappropriate action. If you weren't aware Disney just started a major crackdown (Read this link for that story) on getting certain teens out of their park and have come under fire for possibly targeting minorities. I guess to be fair though, a lot of major schools were/are recruiting these players. I know some of these players were involved with UofI, UF, Ga Tech, Bama, LSU, Miami, and other big name schools. However, I'm sure this will be spun as anti-fsu as much as it can. With all of that being said though, I hope these kids did not do anything wrong. Everything I've heard about these kids has been positive and I know that some of the families will be suing Disney in the very near future. He_Gawn
Notre Dame picks up commit #16 in Slaughter. He is a four star safety from GA who is supposedly one of the hardest hitters out there! This class is turning out to be DAMN GOOD!

In fact, Weber is still in the hunt for this class's "big time" Illinois "guy." ...and I respectfully disagree about Miller going along with Liggins. These kids are all about the limelight and there simply won't be enough to go around...especially playing similar positions. I agree, Liggins wanted to be a point guard and Illinois already has there guy in McCamey. Ligigns would have been a great get, believe me, but it was not likely to begin with and Illinois has bigger needs like 2 wings and a big. Suggs/Shumpert will hopefully be one of the wings with Humphrey being the other and Dunigan being the big. Liggins won't really score a ton and that's what Illinois needs, so as far as I am concerned he is not a huge loss.
dasox24
I never really worried too much about Liggins. I mean, I'd gladly accept his commitment, but I'm not too disappointed the Illini didn't get him. As previously said, Suggs/Shumpert/Humphrey/Dunigan are the four I think they have the best chance at getting, and the ones I care about most. It'll be UK, Tennessee or Florida. Correct, and UK has a wide lead IMO. And who is the big guy in this class if not Liggins? Miller who isn't coming? The overrated Shumpert? Dunigan? Illinois will end up with a class full of Demetri McCamey like prospects in 2008 which isn't bad, but won't get you to many Final 4's anytime soon. For the record, I think Suggs, Shumpert, and Dunigan, and probably some sort of wild card depending upon Jamar Smith, C.J., and whatever else goes on, will be the class.
