NorthSideSox72
Sweet!!!! Now if we can just get O'Dells Brewery to send their stuff from Colorado as well (Ninety Shilling, Loft), I'll have all the good stuff I miss from out west. smalls2598
I tried Fat Tire for the first time on New Years Eve and i really wasn't too fond of the taste. But I'm sure that my buddy will be happy to hear he soon will be able to buy it in the city. Edited January 9, 2006 by smalls2598
Kid Gleason
Not one of my faves, but anytime a beer finally makes a debut at a new area is always a reason for celebration.
Mplssoxfan
One of the reasons their growth has been so slow is that they are apparently extremely picky about their distributors.
FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) Not one of my faves, but anytime a beer finally makes a debut at a new area is always a reason for celebration. I quite enjoy Fat Tire, but their Grand Cru is 10x as amazing. I have a good clone recipe for Fat Tire that was a homebrew staple a couple years ago. I'd do a double batch and batch sparge two identical runnings, and I'd ferment one with a good Belgian Abbey yeast and the other with Chico 1056 (Sierra). The Chico yeast actually came out closer to fat tire, but the abbey yeast gave a lot more complexity and was always my preference.
southsider2k5
I am still waiting for them to get Shiner Boch up here...
Leonard Zelig
Can you get Boulevard in Chicago? It's made in Kansas City, and their Pale Ale is very tasty.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 08:08 AM) I am still waiting for them to get Shiner Boch up here... Shiner Bock IS here. I saw it at the Paulina Food & Liquor and Armitage and Damen not too long ago. I'd have to check to see if they still have it.

NorthSideSox72
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) WHA??? Oh HELLS yes!!!! OK, so, I went to the website for Shiner brewery, and it says it's not available in Illinois. Which is weird, 'cause like I said, I've seen it. Maybe they got it illegally? I'll see if they have it next time I go in there. Anyway, the map shows you can get it in WI, MN, IA, MO and other nearby states, but not IL or IN. Weird. My mom lives in Rochester Minnesota and every visit requires me to bring a few cases of Boulevard back, along with Schells Pilsner. My boss LOVES Boulevard. I find them O.K. A little too watery for me. I have the Bully Porter and Pale in my fridge right now.
SoxFan562004
Brick's Pizza is the only place in Chicago I know they serve it right now.
