At least your use new, original material... :rolly

Well I would have mentioned your phobia of spiders but not everyone knows about that. So anyways, I'm glad you think you can call someone a pussy when you're afraid of a little bug. :)

Hey guys...I talked to my dad today and he called the Hyatt to verify that we're getting the four passes for this weekend. Well it turns out he only put three names that are staying and since we thought we had an extra ticket I was going to give it to a buddy of mine who wasn't staying. We had to put his name on the list and pay an extra $12.50for him to get a ticket. It's 12.50 for the 3rd and 4th guest. This is different than years past as whoever reserved a room had 4 tickets per room. I would call the Hyatt to make sure before you have any trouble when you check in on Friday. Just thought I would give a heads up and it sucks the Hyatt are pulling this but I don't blame them based on the demand.

If this is indeed the case, expect hell to be raised by many at check-in.

The Sox website and Hyatt people when booking the room said 4 passes per room.

It's been like that for a long, long time.

I'll believe it when I see it quite frankly.

Hell they didn't even ask me how many people were staying when I booked all the way back in September.

Aboz, I just read the confirmation email. You get two free tickets with the room and when you have 4 guests, you must pay $12.50 each for the 3rd and 4th guests staying in your room to get the tickets. This is totally different from years past and imo not fair just because of the high demand for tickets considering I booked in early september.

12.50 a day per person or per 3 day pass?

Also, do you have a 1 night stay or two night.

HOTEL RATES

Single Occupancy Rate Per Room:

Date Rate

January 27, 2006 USD 124.50

January 28, 2006 USD 124.50

Additional charges per night, add USD 0.00 for 2nd guest, add USD 12.50 for 3rd

guest, add USD 12.50 for 4th guest.

Hotel Tax: Rates do not include 15.4% room tax. (subject to change)

I'm not sure if this is per day or per 3 day pass? I'm guessing per day.

I guess the Hyatt Manager said they overbooked somehow. Not sure but this will be total chaos when people are checking in on Friday. I am calling to complain because like Aboz said they never said anything about how many guests would be in the room when he booked. So for the two extra guests per day thats 25 dollars for day. I do not believe everyone will be paying the $75 dollars extra for the weekend.

All I can say is that I've got people flying in (actually all 4 are) and if there aren't somehow 4 passes available, there is going to be hell to pay. They have NEVER in the past made you specify a number of guests and have that effect the number of passes you receive. If they decide to change that without notifying people when they booked the room, then they are indeed going to have a huge problem come Friday. At least they are giving people the option to change it, even if you do have to pay more.

I'll be there on Saturday. With zillions of people in attendance, if you've never really met anyone from the board, how do you know who is there from Soxtalk?

I was at the KC game outing and was crammed in with all the WSI group. Only met a couple of fellow "Posteries" from Soxtalk that day. Is there such a word as "posteries???" Anyway, would hope to meet some Soxtalk members.

That 3rd and 4th guest fee is for the room. Most hotels have that type of fee. Its not for Soxfest or shouldn't be. IT doens't say the additional charges are for the tix.

The package comes with 4 tix or at least thats the way they advertised it. I know if you are at a hotel with more than 2 people, often times they ask you if there are others. Usually they won't charge but sometimes they do. I know this happened to a few people at last fest (having to pay for the extra guests) but it wasn't for the extra tickets.

Hopefully they didn't change it.

Here's the webpage.

The exact quote:

One and two-night Hyatt hotel packages also are on sale now. Book a two-night package for $239 plus tax and receive four SoxFest weekend passes and four tickets to a 2005 White Sox home game. A one-night package includes two SoxFest weekend passes.

It's the one-night package that only includes 2 passes. I'll be printing this page and taking it with me just in case.

It really wouldn't suprise me if the hotel people don't know what they are talking about. It's happened before...

Thanks for the clarification IWC, I'll be printing the same thing and taking it with me.

Bad thing is, that's for the 2005 fest, if you look at it closer.  It's got Jan 14-16 as the dates.

Oops. Didn't notice that...

All right. T-minus one day and counting.... Its now time for final roll call just for ease of finding names.

I'll be there Friday. If anyone wants to say hey, I'll have on the old school Ventura 23 jersey from the early 90's sans the name on the back. I am also going to go with the 1926 style hat (blue with two white socks cross) which is pretty nasty looking. Look forward to seeing everyone!

very true, what do u think they close the Opening Ceremonies off at 500?? 1000??

I'd expect the garage sale to be a hot spot when the fest first opens as well...

No. I mean that if you have 1500 people in front of you, figure a few hundred are going to the Q&A session, a few hundred are going to see Konerko, a few hundred are going elsewhere (garage sale, booths, whatever) and a few hundred are going to see Thome.

Now if you have 2500 people in front of you you're chances are going to significantly decrease...
