CWSOX45
Some one mentioned earlier last week that Sox scouts were at the BOB in Arizona. This doesn't really mean anything, but if the Sox were to pull off a trade with the D'Backs I'd like to see the Sox get Lyle Overbay, who's salary right now is only $300,000. He's left handed, has power and could easily replace Konerko at first. With that said here's Overbay's stats so far this year: 115 AB's .278 3 HR 13 RBI and 16 BB. Another guy I'd like to have is a young pitcher on their club named Brandon Webb In 6 games started he's 2-1 with an E.R.A. of 2.14 and has 35 K's in 42 innings pitched. Not sure what the D'Backs would want back, maybe Konerko? Last time I checked I thought they were thinking about dumping some salary, anyone have anything to say about this? Jim Fainter
The D'backs love Overbay. Finley has got to be close to 40, undoubtedly over the hill, with a big time salary.
whitesox247
No way are the DBacks gonna trade Overbay and Webb, they're their future. It would probably take something like Crede and Buehrle to get them.
rafacosta
Hey guys, what you think about Jeff Weaver??? We could send some relievers to them. He led the league in shutouts last year, Jeff Weaver is a 5th starter in NY, if we need some offense try to get Nick Johnson, a LH who has future and send PK to them or Carlos. Just wondering... I would always be willing to strengthen our rotation but I don't think the Yanks are gonna want Konerko or Lee with Giambi and their great outfield. We might pull off something along the lines of Flash, Glover, and some good prospects though.

And the NYY is riding a 5 game losing streak.

Im sure they could pull a guy like Juan Rivera or someone from the minors. With that lineup they've got, I cant even start to imagine they need offensive help, let along two slow dumbasses like Lee and Konerko. We Drafted Weaver once he didn't sign.. F. him i want no part of him Injury waiting to happen. D-Backs aren't going to give up Overbay for Konerko.. Hell would have to frezze over. The only way we would get Overbay is for Colon

The D'Backs have shopped Overbay a couple of times in the past, they might do it again. CWSOX45

Matsui is a good defensive LFer... if you look at how quickly he releases the ball after he catches it... on his first step after the catch it's out of his hand already. Great fundamental player with a good eye and pop in his bat... watched him for 2 years in Japan when he first came up, and he's only grown as a ballplayer since then. He'll be fine. Matsui numbers: AVG .266, OBP .316, 3 HR, 29 RBIs, 21 R... The only good thing in here is his RBIs. That's poor numbers to me, CLee has the same numbers and more HRs. NYY is a 5 game home losiing streak and it looks like that Bearnie will have a surgery in his knee. Defensevely Matsui is better but CLee save a win wednesday, did u forget it ? And he is improving. CWSOX45 Someone mentioned Steve Finley. I'd package up some players for Finley and Miguel Batista in a heartbeat. Kill 3 birds with 2 stones(LH power, CFer, more starting pitching). If we could somehow talk a team like Baltimore into taking Konerko, that would be great.
