kiper's latest first rounder mock. posted yesterday on espninsider. wouldn't mind seeing the bears get pope. i like him better than lewis:

Here's my first-round projection for the 2006 NFL draft. I put this list together by taking a look at the general area where each player should go, then placing the player on a team where he filled one of that particular team's top three needs.

In this projection, there are 17 underclassmen in the first round, with Reggie Bush and Vince Young leading the way as the first and third picks of the draft. This is my first projection, but it won't be my last of this season. I will submit another first-round projection after the Senior Bowl, followed by one after the NFL Combine.

LenDale White will be better than Reggie Bush. I have no doubt in my mind regarding that. Falling to the Pats? Kiper is a f***ing moron.

I seriously think Kiper just reads NFLDraftcountdown.com (like 95% of the people on the internet who claim to know something about the draft) and then bases everything off of it.

5 days after Wright goes bonkers for D'Brick, Kiper does.

Why anybody puts anything behind what he says is beyond me.

Lendale might end up being a great pro, but he'll fall in the draft mostly because most teams don't think they have a "need" at running back. That said, I think he'll be a great pro and the comparison I would draw for him would be to Bettis.

He's a Larry Johnson kind of player. People are going to knock his speed a lot (I know he isnt going to run well), but I think his gamespeed is going to be huge for him. He also has the #1 thing I look for a in a RB, burst. He hits that hole and hits it hard.

He isnt the Tubby Tailback.. hed have to put on some lbs to do that.

I also have the feeling that LenDale White will be a better pro than Reggie Bush, but the only two USC games I actually watched were the Rose Bowl and USC-Notre Dame.

I'd also like to see Matt Millen draft Santonio Holmes or some other wide receiver in the first round, just out of spite.  the people of Detroit would tear that city apart.

 He would be canned in a second, but just imagine them getting Vince Young, I bet he could work wonders with those young receivers not that it would happen anyhow, I wouldnt be too surprised by a wr selection figuring theirs tend to get injured but I bet they change it up and go with a defender.

Maroney? Keep dreaming Mel. Addai would be the Colts' RB (Edge clone IMO) IF they drafted a RB that early (I think Addai will be there in round 2 and one of Sims or Howard will be there at 30).

Any specific reason why? The Colts have been interested in Maroney for awhile, and Maroney would be a great fit for their system.

no offense but addai is in my opinion the opposite of edge.

Edge is a bruising back who wears down defenses. He lacks the speed to make huge plays, but gets abotu 4-5 yards on every play and carries the pile.

Addai is a quick slasher with big play ability but is only like 5-10 or something. he will be an outside runner IMO, where as edge is mroe of a between the tackles guy (even though the colts like to attack the outside corner of those tackles).
