I wouldn't, in fact if I was a fan of any team I wouldn't want them to go anywhere near this cancer.

Not to mentione we've got an aging WR group anyways. We should be thinking about drafting another WR. Signing Owens will take playing time away from Patrick Crayton as well.

T.O. isn't that old. He's in his prime. Plus he's going to be on the best behavior just to shove it up the Eagles' asses. If he were to play in the same division, he would do anything and I mean anything to make sure they beat the snot out of the Eagles and that would mean him being on best behavior.

T.O. with Keyshawn opposite of him and Terry Glenn as the #3 would be great. Plus you have Crayton as a KR and 4th wideout when you want to spread them out and that's one great receiving group.

You know, even if TO tries to be on his best behavior...that really doesn't guarantee anything. Remember the MNF/Desperate Housewives thing? He thought he was doing what the team and the league wanted him to do, and somehow he still wound up causing a controversy.

Beyond that, wasn't he supposedly on his best behavior when he made that Favre statement that got him kicked off the Eagles? I mean, all in all that wasn't such a horrendous statement, certainly no worse than what Manning said about his O-Line a week ago, but TO's problem was that it was just another item on the list.

Manning can say stuff like that and get away with it because he hasn't had a running war with management for months. TO can't do that now. Right now, even if TO is on his best behavior, if he says 1 stupid thing in some random interview...the media will be asking about it for 2 weeks.

I dont understand how it could have been true anyway. How could our GM talk to a guy who is under contract with another team. Wasnt Jerry Jones gonna get in trouble just for talking about the guy on the radio ??

Philly has told TO that he can search for a trade....

I still say he signs with Atlanta.  He has a home in Atlanta, the Falcons need a receiver, Mora's probably atleast a little familiar with him...and I just wanna see battle of the egos.

I will bet that there is no way in hell they allow T.O. to sink his teeth into Mike Vick. I believe many from that organization have come out publicly to state that. Plus they have a very young up and coming group of WRs. Roddy White and Michael Jenkins have looked very good. Throw in Crumpler and Finneran and they have a good group. I don't think the problem is the WRs because Schaub seems to be able to throw to them pretty well. I think it is more of a problem of Mike Vick's passing abilities.

He is 32 almost 33. Is that really the prime age for a WR? I don't know this for sure, but I don't think so.

Of course not. In football terms, I'd say that you're in your prime when you're between the ages of 26 and 29. Without even looking into it (kinda like nitetrain), I'd assume that this will be his 12th or 13th year in the NFL?

Age for receivers is pretty meaningless if you look at the success that Galloway, Keenan McCardell, Rod Smith and then Rice and Tim Brown of yesteryear have had. I'd say TO can put up elite numbers for anotehr 5 years if he got his act together

Marvin Harrison has been looking s***ty the past 4 years, hasn't he Hammer? Ed McCaffrey too, right? Throw Troy Brown into that list as well. Mushin Muhammed did have his best year in the ages of 26 and 29, right Hammer? Jimmy Smith has been a s***ty player since the age of 29. I suggest you get off my dick Hammer, because you follow me around everywhere I post and continue to think you're right on every subject when it comes to sports. I let the last one go, but if rules aren't going to be enforced, I have no problems taking shots at the "god-like" poster than you think you are.

There are exceptions, but most WRs with great tools start to take a dive when they hit their early 30s (30-33, let's say), mostly due to an accumulation of injuries. You said that Terrell Owens was in his prime. That is clearly not the case, as he'll turn 33 pretty soon.

I follow you around because I like you, nitetrain.

The Marvin Harrison comparison is pretty good, but you have to remember who he is working with and the offense he is in. Still his best years were 27-30. Jimmy Smith is a good example too, but he is still not the player he used to be. Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver in the history of the NFL. He is an exception to the rule. T.O. may be as well, but don't expect his best years.

Ed McCaffery compared to TO? He didn't even put up decent numbers until he was 30, so that is not a fair comparison to TO. Mushin Muhammed had his best year at 31, but didn't have a good year since 2000 and was awful this year. That may be a one year wonder. Are you comparing him to T.O.? Troy Brown? What? Did you mean Tim Brown maybe? He was already listed, so I don't think you did. Even if you did his best years were before 30, not after. He was still a decent receiver after 30 but not like he was before that age.

I think success is what you have in your own mind as being successful. Would you look at what any of these players have done after thirty besides Harrison, Smith, Rice, and maybe Tim Brown has a successful season for T.O.? I wouldn't. When I think of T.O. the player I think of dominance. I don't think of T.O. as the average Joey Galloway, Ed Mccaffery, Mushin Muhammed, Troy Brown (ha ha!), or Keenan McCardell type seasons. If you are signing T.O. you are expecting much more than that, in my opinion.

Not once was I comparing TO and Ed McCaffrey. I was stating guys who prove that 26-29 is not the prime years for WR's. If you're good, you usually last until about 36. Ed McCaffrey was a good WR.

Nope.

I tried to put together a Top 30 list of WRs since the mid-60s. Some of the selections can be argued against, I suppose. The point is that these guys were all blessed with incredible tools. Here it is.

Guys who suffered sizeable to severe drop-offs in between the ages of 30 and 33:

Lance Alworth (San Diego)

AS YET UNDETERMINED

Randy Moss

Terrell Owens

Common sense would indicate that if great guys become merely good or worse in between the ages of 30 and 33 (by and large), then guys who are merely good in their prime (typically 26-29) become mediocre or horses*** WRs. There are exceptions to everything in this life, nitetrain. I don't want to hear about f***ing Ed McCaffrey. You NEVER, EVER, EVER base an argument on exceptions.

"If you're good, you usually last until about 36"

And then you wonder why I respond to your posts. If you said stuff that was on point, you'd never hear from me.
