Frank the Tank 35
http://www.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29554 Scrubs moving around. Anna will be more of a draw for fans than Kris. The only reason the O's benefit from this is that they lose Julio's contract. Welcome to the AL Kris, you're gonna get rocked. Frank the Tank 35
Whoops, yeah I must've been thinking of someone else. Is Julio in arb? He has lost it since that one great season he had. I don't see how this trade helps anyone. Is this supposed to make Tejada happy?
Greg The Bull Luzinski
IMO, Anna Benson is not really much to look at. Particularly when we have Mrs. Pods to look at.
Kyyle23
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) IMO, Anna Benson is not really much to look at. Particularly when we have Mrs. Pods to look at. Anna is hot until she opens her mouth. Then, not so much. She likes to show off the cleavage though, thats for sure. Her website is frickin hilarious, she is absolutely in love with herself and her image. www.annabenson.net edit: I just went to her site. Now she is a gun advocate with a crazy letter to "Gun haters". Seriously, some people should just stick to what they do. She happens to be the wife of a baseball player, now because she has money and time on her hands(not to mention all the attention she wants) she thinks she can spout off whatever she wants. "I have many guns (strategically placed) in my home to be used in the event of a home invasion—a crime which frequently occurs in my city." Yeah, im sure their plush New York highrise has many instances of home invasion. Edited January 21, 2006 by kyyle23

Who's not tired of irrelevant celebrities spouting off their opinions on random s***? He didn't say anything about guns, he said, Who the f*** cares what Anna Benson thinks? Damn right. SoxFan562004
The thing that intrigues me the most about this move is Benson with Mazzone (sp?) as his pitching coach. This guy has done wonders for pitchers who had a world of talent and haven't reached it for one reason or another... could be interesting
Kyyle23
QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) What's wrong with owning a gun? ^^^ What Jackie Hayes said. I dont think there is anything wrong with having guns, but this lady is bragging and promoting them like everyone needs one, and that isnt the case. Sure, she throws "Gun Education" in there, but then she talks about leaving guns around the house in strategic, unlocked, and easily accessible places(because (her father's) valid argument is that if the guns are locked up, it will be too difficult to access them when needed... like when some deranged 200 pound man is busting through my front door). Give me a break. She should shut the f*** up before she convinces other people to do the same thing, and someone gets hurt. That being said, this could probably turn into a decent discussion on The Filibuster.
G&T
This isn't a bad move for the Orioles. Benson isn't very good but it doesn't look like they gave up too much for him. On the other hand, the AL is going to eat him alive.

Milkman delivers
I don't think this deserves its own thread, but Jayson Stark has an insider article called "Innings-Eaters." For a starter, a measure of success is throwing 200 innings. Remarkably, three American League teams have at least four starters capable of this feat, writes Jayson Stark. Can someone tell me who those other two teams he's referring to are? Oh, and Anna Benson might be a crazy skank, but any one of us wouldn't pass that up...if we knew she was disease free. DBAHO
It'll be interesting to see how Benson does under Leo Mazzone, and if he'll improve a lot. Guess this means Chris Ray is the closer now for the O's too, and Aaron Heilman will be starting for the Mets.

Benson isn't very good but it doesn't look like they gave up too much for him. On the other hand, the AL is going to eat him alive. At least they got a pitcher, even if it is a relatively crappy one (and possibly the most over-rated pitcher in the game). He's been living on his high draft status every since he came into the bigs.
