santo=dorf
If you can make money off of cover songs, can you make money off of your own custom mixes then?
3E8
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) If you can make money off of cover songs, can you make money off of your own custom mixes then? That's a good question that I can't find an answer to in the FAQ.
sox4lifeinPA
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) That's a good question that I can't find an answer to in the FAQ. you'd still have to pay royalties, if you get the licensing, but as long as it's your own "arrangement" I don't see why you wouldn't get $. That's how it would work on a record. The difficult part would be guessing how many times the song would be downloaded. With a record, the amount you pay for say 500 pieces is different than 50,000.
