It was mentioned by Bob Ryan on Around the Horn. I live In Mason City, Iowa which nowadays is only a couple of miles away from Clear Lake. Tragic day for sure. And only a short time later the RnR world would suffer another horrible loss, one that would change the landscape even further, and that was the death of Eddie Cochran.
