1549
glad to see the former cub prospect is doing so well. After he got injured late last year, I was worried he wouldn't pitch well right away. But man he is tearing it up. He was only in A-ball last year too, now he is in the majors already. Last night 8 IP 6 H 0 R 1 BB 9 K's Willis is now 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA. Hopefully the Marlins take better care of him than there other pitchers
Jim Fainter
I find it odd that other teams can promote their best prospect from A ball to the majors, but we can't promote our best prospects (Reed, Yan) from A to AA without "rushing" them. Chisoxfn
Well Willis isn't the best in their organization but one of the best in the majors. With the Sox Borchard is about the only one that is one of the best in the majors at this point in time. Remember, the Sox haven't had a top 10 pick in the past 10 years or so. Its much harder to get top 10 prospects in the entire majors without very high picks.

Jim Fainter
Yes, he is. Rex makes an occasional post on this net and hails from Birmingham.

Jim Fainter
Why did the Cubs let him go? Don't know his story.
Chisoxfn
Why did the Cubs let him go? Don't know his story. Was in the Alfonseca/Matt Clement trade.
