Top 10 Remaining Free Agents

8. Shinjo Takatsu, RP

Takatsu was excellent in 2004, but he had mostly an awful season in 2005. He can still be useful, but his penchant for giving up the long ball means he's not equipped to succeed in a hitter's environment. Another weakness is that Takatsu can't handle the opposite side; so he's best used in a righty-specialist role, a la Steve Reed

Doesn't even know how to spell Shingo.

I just don't like the guy and every opportunity I get to point out one of his errors, I will do so.

Shingo may be headed back to Japan.

And I'm surprised that no team has signed Richard Hidalgo yet. I remember wondering who would be a better signing last offseason between Dye and Hidalgo. I think there must be some steroid questions about him though. He owns a career .835 OPS but he stunk in a massive hitter's park last season after the harsher steroid testing and penalties were instituted. Maybe teams are scared off by this. If Hidalgo really didn't do roids, he could be the best signing of the offseason just because of how cheap he will be and the good probability that he will rebound in 2006. He could have a better season than Jock Jones and be much, much cheaper.

He'd be a good low risk, high reward type free agent, but not much more. He's on a 2 year decline from a good 2003 season, having put up a .239 25 82 .301/.444/.745 in '04 between the Astros and Mets, and a .222 16 43 .289/.416/.705 in Texas, which as you mentioned, is an insane hitter's park.

I dont know who the guy is, but I know you're calling out his spelling of Japanese names and you made three errors in your thread title alone. You know what they say about people who live in glass houses. :bang

I didn't read my heading nor do I have spell check. He has all of the resources.
