Jordan4life_2007
My contract with s***-mobile is up next week. God they're horrible. Anyway, I've narrowed my choices down to Verizon and Sprint. Can anbody with either of these carriers, or maybe somebody that's had both, give me any helpful information? jackie hayes
I've had both, and really they were both pretty good. I've had slightly better coverage with Verizon. But you should ask some people who live around you and use it in the same areas.
RockRaines
I had both of them, had sprint for 4 years, hated it, switched to T-mobile.
NorthSideSox72
I've had Sprint for years now, and they have been great, save for one thing: the renewal process. They are always running deals for NEW customers, and I have to pull teeth to get them to make the same offer to existing customers (didn't anyone ever teach them that its cheaper to keep customers than to get new ones?). Other than that, they have been the most reliable network I've used. I had verizon for a little while, and Ameritech before they were bough by Verizon. Verizon was awful in every sense. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) I had verizon for a little while, and Ameritech before they were bough by Verizon. Verizon was awful in every sense. I had Verizon for a grand total of 15 days. On the 15th day I called and cancelled because US Cellular finally decided to give me a decent deal on the phone I wanted. It was one of those "try it out for 15 days" deals. Now I'm fighting with them because they sent me a $700 bill that had termination fees on it even though I cancelled within the 15-day period. I'll never go back to them again.

Cingular did the samething to me except they have all of the customer service people not use their real names so that it is more difficult to track them down. It was a nightmare. Iwritecode
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) Cingular did the samething to me except they have all of the customer service people not use their real names so that it is more difficult to track them down. It was a nightmare. We were already told that we shouldn't be responsible for the termination fees. The rest of the bill is activation fees (which they forgot to mention when we got the phones) and $50 for the use of the phones which we were supposed to receive a $50 credit for anyway. This was promised to us by the manager of the store. Now we have the supervisor of the customer service rep we talked to emailing the supervisor of the manger of the store. It gets interesting when you start moving up the management chain. Edited February 13, 2006 by Iwritecode

Chisoxfn
Verizon is the best cell company in US, but that said it depends on your area.
Iwritecode
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) Verizon is the best cell company in US, but that said it depends on your area. They cover a lot of ground around the country and the reception was pretty good the few times I did use it but we went back to US Cellular because our monthly bill is cheaper there. Plus they cover most of Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa which is about all the farther we travel anyway.

Cingular and Tmobile are the cheaper national carriers, but in terms of best network its Verizon. US Cellular isn't available in most areas (well at least not out on the West Coast). That said people with US Cellular cell phones would be able to make calls with CA cause they'd make some sort of agreement to use someone elses signal. Buehrle>Wood
Verizon gets service just about everywhere. They also have the most features for your phone. VCast is pretty cool. It's portable TV, although now I think you have to pay an extra subscription fee(I got it free due to being an orignal user). The GetItNow service is also great and you can access the internet from any of their phones as well. Not sure how the pricing is compared to others though. Rex Kickass
Sprint has had horrible customer service. The last 15 months has been a nightmare for me with them. Promised new phone rebates that never arrive, contracts that are renewed without an end date, changing the structure of my plan without telling me.... Anyone but Sprint. Sprint Royally screws over new customers by making them pay ridiculous prices for phones. They are notorious for it.
Jordan4life_2007
I was gonna go with Verizon, but they want a $250 dollar security deposit. So they can basically kiss my ass. Sprint wins by default. Thanks for your help, guys.
AngelasDaddy0427
Heres my sprint horror story... I never once missed a payment for the first year and a half I had the service... It was fine, I had just a simple Nokia phone and I was happy with it... Then they told me I could upgrade to the camera phone if I renewed my contract... My phone mins started over on the 18th, I came in on the 19th to get my phone... They double billed me for a whole other month of service because I got the new phone "in the middle of my contact"... Since I couldn't pay both bills they shut my phone off... Then when I paid it to get it turned back on they double billed me again using the excuse they turned it back in the middle on my pay period... Then I moved to Montana and it became a moot point since they don't have service out here anyway... But they do suck... and that fair and flexible plan is the biggest scam they run too..
