A Rod is a fraud.  He is not Dominican.

You are born in America, you are American.

How can you defend him?

The guy is not a winner.  What has he ever won?

He is full of stats.

That is all.

In his 3 seasons at Texas he missed 1 game total. He drove home almost 400 runs, he hit 156 home runs, that's an average of 52 a season and hit over .300 while playing a stellar SS. He certainly pulled his weight in Texas. He was a most deserving MVP last season with the Yankees. To say he is not a winner is not accurate. He has conducted himself with class throughout his career, even with all the jealousy of his contract. I would be proud if he wore a White Sox uniform. Baseball is a team game. ARod has not been on a team with a decent pitching staff since his Seattle days. This whole thing with the Dominican Republic and the US is only because both sides were pulling on his sleeves begging him to play for them. Ozzie saying the DR doesn't need his "ass", is a lie. The guy is the best player alive.

Actually, I don't.  Ozzie has always spoke his mind, it's not like he just started after we won the series.

'these remarks' is what i said. that doesn't mean specific remarks about this years first ever Baseball Classic. It means remarks like this, where he would call somebody out for no apparent reason.

A-Rod's ball-slapping incident on Bronson Arroyo was pretty ghey though.

I lost any respect for him after that weak s***.

It was his only option. He was dead meat. The blame for ARod's waffling should be laid directly on whoever is overseeing this event. They should be the one's determining which team ARod should play for. Maybe they should have Ozzie decide where all the questionable players will play.

I agree. Can you imagine how many of these naysayers would get on their knees to have him play for the palehose?

I love his production.  I don't like the player or the contract.

Not sure why you would not like the player. And if your team paid his contract as well as pay the rest of the player's contracts (see: New York Yankees) why would you care?

So your admitting that at one time you went out of your way to get at me, which resulted in the two suspensions i've served without probable cause?

Im all about forgiving and forgetting, if thats admitted, this problem is solved.

I've never personally suspended you.

I may have knocked you or whatever, but I didn't suspend you.

As far as us getting along, I'm more than willing.

If Ozzie really wants to b****, he could complain about the real jokes of the WBC, like Mark Mulder and Dan Haren being listed for the Netherlands, or Piazza being listed for Italy. (I mean, Mulder was born in South Holland, after all...) Ripping on a guy who lived his whole life in a Dominican community, lived for a long time in DR, and holds (I believe) dual citizenship is ridiculous.

I love it when controversy erupts with Guillen because I can legitimately picture people aggrivated with his comments. I agree it's unneccessary, but it certaintly doesn't upset me.

I said it before, and I'll repeat it--Guillen can do no wrong with me. I don't give a s*** what he says, or how much his comments distracts attention from the team. These Guillen quotes always follow a similar path of ascending to a full-scale discussion, then dying down quickly after. Atleast the SI publication waited until our White House visit was over.

You're biased.

You're biased.

Our world series championship certaintly helps ease critcism off Guillen, in my mind. I'm sure in a few years, if this team were posting records similar to 01'-04,' I would be far more critical of him. Until that moment arrives, I can't do anything besides laugh at his comments and say "Ozzie being Ozzie."

Besides, who honestly is offended by Guillens comments besides Yankee and Dodger fans? Rest of the nation probably couldn't give a s***. If anything, they're thinking this Guillen character is entertaining--and crazy.

Not entirely.

I for one thought that A-Rod's flip-flopping over who to play for if at all was total media posturing. The guy is a damn moth, he gets off on this sort of thing. If you don't if you want to play or who to play for, say you're still deciding. Don't make a decision, re-nig, beg off, and then change position.

In the end I knew he'd side with the Dominicans, but as a dual citizen it's his prerogative. But don't try and tell me that he changed his mind because it's honoring his parents.

Bulls***.

He'd rather play with all the star power that the Dominicans have. And if the Americans had Guerrero, Ortiz, Martinez, Tejada, and all the rest you better believe that he'd want to honor his homeland by playing for the Americans.

He's a spineless piece of s*** is what he is. If you want to go where the money is, just say so. If you think the grass is greener in the Bronx and what you want is a World Series ring, then just say so. Don't feed us a fabricaated web of bulls*** so you can come out smelling like a rose after your trip up the moral high road.

The only thing I won't take away from him is that he's a hell of a ballplayer, although David Ortiz IMO was more valuable to the Red Sox than A-Rod to the Yankees during the '05 campaign.

Oh, yes, clearly you are very perceptive.
