The guy is not a winner.  What has he ever won?

In his 3 seasons at Texas he missed 1 game total. He drove home almost 400 runs, he hit 156 home runs, that's an average of 52 a season and hit over .300 while playing a stellar SS. He certainly pulled his weight in Texas. He was a most deserving MVP last season with the Yankees. To say he is not a winner is not accurate. He has conducted himself with class throughout his career, even with all the jealousy of his contract. I would be proud if he wore a White Sox uniform. Baseball is a team game. ARod has not been on a team with a decent pitching staff since his Seattle days. This whole thing with the Dominican Republic and the US is only because both sides were pulling on his sleeves begging him to play for them. Ozzie saying the DR doesn't need his "ass", is a lie. The guy is the best player alive.

'these remarks' is what i said. that doesn't mean specific remarks about this years first ever Baseball Classic. It means remarks like this, where he would call somebody out for no apparent reason.

Well those comments were entirely necessary, in my opinion these were not.

It was his only option. He was dead meat. The blame for ARod's waffling should be laid directly on whoever is overseeing this event. They should be the one's determining which team ARod should play for. Maybe they should have Ozzie decide where all the questionable players will play.

I agree. Can you imagine how many of these naysayers would get on their knees to have him play for the palehose?

Our world series championship certaintly helps ease critcism off Guillen, in my mind. I'm sure in a few years, if this team were posting records similar to 01'-04,' I would be far more critical of him. Until that moment arrives, I can't do anything besides laugh at his comments and say "Ozzie being Ozzie."

 

Besides, who honestly is offended by Guillens comments besides Yankee and Dodger fans? Rest of the nation probably couldn't give a s***. If anything, they're thinking this Guillen character is entertaining--and crazy.

I for one thought that A-Rod's flip-flopping over who to play for if at all was total media posturing. The guy is a damn moth, he gets off on this sort of thing. If you don't if you want to play or who to play for, say you're still deciding. Don't make a decision, re-nig, beg off, and then change position.

 

In the end I knew he'd side with the Dominicans, but as a dual citizen it's his prerogative. But don't try and tell me that he changed his mind because it's honoring his parents.

Don't feed us a fabricaated web of bulls*** so you can come out smelling like a rose after your trip up the moral high road.

 

The only thing I won't take away from him is that he's a hell of a ballplayer, although David Ortiz IMO was more valuable to the Red Sox than A-Rod to the Yankees during the '05 campaign.
