bjm676
This was in my inbox.. Dear Sox Fans, It seems like only yesterday that two million of us were celebrating our World Series Championship together in the middle of downtown Chicago. While this offseason has certainly been brief, I hope you've enjoyed waking up each morning to the thought that your Chicago White Sox are World Champions. I know we have. At the same time, it is my responsibility to continue to try to make this team better and better. Winning was terrific, but now that we've tasted it, we want it even more. I want to experience it again. That is how passionate we are about what we do, which is to bring Championship-caliber baseball to our fans and the city of Chicago. To that end, we've been aggressive this offseason in adding players to the 2006 White Sox team. Jim Thome gives us a veteran left-handed power hitter whose career statistics speak for themselves. We won last year because of pitching, defense and timely power, and we intend to continue playing that style of baseball. Javier Vazquez gives us a veteran arm who has delivered double-digit victories and pitched close to 200 innings for each of the last six seasons, and I believe his addition makes our strong rotation one of the best in baseball. We also added a versatile left-handed hitter in utility player Rob Mackowiak. I have been after Rob for three years because I feel like he fits so well on our team. I think you will love this guy. We see these three additions as directly addressing the needs of our club, and we're confident that these men will complement the successful chemistry of our returning players. You've heard some people say that this team is better on paper than the 2005 team. You will never hear me say those words. The 2005 season was magical for us all. I don't want to diminish what that World Series Championship team accomplished or the contributions of the players who are no longer here. We just want to enjoy the passion of winning ... again and again. I cannot say enough about how you, our fans, have responded this offseason. We have always explained that every dollar that comes into this team in turn goes to putting a better product on the field. For the first time in club history, our season ticket base has surpassed 20,000. I can't think of a better way to kick off the 2006 season than to see this overwhelming support translate into a packed house on Opening Night, April 2. In the meantime, I am excited about seeing our team in Arizona. Every year our goals for spring training remain simple and unchanged: get our work in and stay healthy. Thanks again for your support of the White Sox, and we look forward to celebrating the 2006 season together. Sincerely, Ken Williams Edited February 16, 2006 by robinventura23

TheBlackSox8
I commend him on doing his job....and he does it extremely well. Every year he tries like hell to make the team competitive with what he's given, money/prospects.

YASNY
I give Ozzie a lot of credit for that championship, but I think Kenny is THE man most responsible for it.
