2005 Post Season

Ok obviously, the big moments were the 2 homeruns in game 2 (THE greatest White Sox game in history, IMHO), the El Duque 6th inning, the AJ ball that we all know hit the dirt, and the final outs of each series, but I am looking for the moments that made you proud to be a Sox fan and truly moved you, yet wouldn't fit nicely into a 30 second sportscast.

Mine = Uribe going into the stands and catching that foulball. Under the circumstances, it is my all-time favorite defensive play! :gosox1:

Game 1 of the ALDS.

Hittiing the s*** out of Boston's crappy pitching, and Pods hitting his 1st HR of the year. It really got the playoffs off to a great start with a lot of momentum.

1) Crede's defensive gems in Gm 1 of the World Series

2) Uribe's last 3 defensive plays in Gm 4 of the World Series

3) Posednik's catch against the wall on Orlando Cabrera's well hit ball in Gm 2 of the ALCS. If Pods doesn't make that catch, Sox are down going into the 9th.

I got a weird one, and it's off the field. When Jencks "blew" the save in game 2 of the World Series, Buehrle went over to him in the dugout, rubbed his neck and I would guess said to him, don't worry about it, go get'em next time, that sort of thing. It was Buehrle's win that he blew, and there are plenty of guys who would be pouting about his own misfortune, rather than worry about his teammate's feelings. That, to me, is what makes Buehrle Buehrle, and a true team leader.

I was just watching ALDS Game 1 last night, and I love how we came out with guns a-blazing in that first inning. Most importantly, everything that happened before Konerko's FC--HBP, sac bunt, HBP, stolen base. They started off throttling Clement and then opened the floodgates.

There was that feeling like in The Natural when lightning strikes beyond the grandstand in that final game as a foretelling of what would happen.

The Sox 1st of ALCS Game 3 also had a similar feeling, and this one is particularly dear to me because I was at that game.

Podsednik singled, Iguchi sac bunt, Dye double, Konerko two-run jack and Garland's four-hit gem. That was also a crucial game because after that dropped third strike call and then going back to Anaheim, the series was very much up in the air.
