Chisoxfn
Given Ring's age and performance, my guess is that the only reason he isn't on the team right now is the plethora of lefthanded relief pitching the Sox have (Marte, Wunsch, Sanders, Porzio, Munoz, even Cotts). Which is an utter failure by Kenny Williams. Let's see, you have a ton of lefthanded relievers, and it's probably pretty likely that people would be willing to overpay for a couple of them. What to do, what to do, what to do? (Hint: "Mr. Cashman, how about Nick Johnson for Marte, Gordon and Konerko?") It won't be a failure when the Sox move Koch and Flash and then cut or deal White. That right there opens three slots and thats when a lot of those guys will be able to step right in. That allows the Sox to easily move some of those arms in the pen (NOT Marte), get something valuable to help with the rebuilding/retooling process. I told you guys ESPN had a wealth of undiscovered posting talent If only LSD, Rdivaldi, Boog and whitesox6011 could be enticed to switch over..... I remember hearing about some of you guys from some of the "old timers" I take it you kept reading the board then for a while. What made you leave it? BrandoFan
I was just starting my acting study at the tender age of 19+ (my peers enrolled have a whole lifetime of work by that age, lol) and I just couldn't afford to be online for nearly 2 years. I tried to post late 2001 once on WSI but they kicked me out over a spat with Randar. It was it for me until my schedule wasn't as unforgiving since April 03. Bridgeport_Joe
Given Ring's age??? He was in college this time last year. My point exactly--he's not some year old dominating low A ball. He is a purportedly polished college closer who is 22 or 23 (too lazy to look it up). Given his dominance at all levels of the minors, he should be just about ready to come up.
