Minors, just what happens in the states you mentioned when an atheist demands for their school to teach the theory that space aliens created the Earth (yes there are really people like that) or a Muslim student wants the theory that Allah created everything great in the universe?

Would you want your schools teaching that material in a science class because that waht's some people decided to believe in?

Didn't think so.

I am going to end this discussion by saying that I will be praying for you.

Juggs used to say the exact same thing when he was in this situation.

I will not change my stance on the issue just like I don't see any other southerners doing it either.

i hope you'll at least understand the other side of the arguments motives are NOT part of the hoax known as the "war on christianity" in this country, but rather in the roots of science.

and i also hope you realize why you are wrong. :bang

QUOTE(minors @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 10:48 PM)
So all the bible and all of history is all made up?  All of the modern day miracles are all lies?  Jesus was nothing but a lie?

Where in this discussion did anyone ever say that the bible, history, and Jesus were all made up and lies? What modern day miracles do you refer to?

I want to know what the f*** the Bible, Jesus, and modern day miracles have to do with science classes in a public school. :bang

What exactly would you consider a modern day miracle?

Well I consider my uncle being suddenly cured from terminal caner when 3 weeks earlier when his wife was told to make him comfortable he will be dead in 2-4 weeks. Even the doctor from UM said it was a miracle beyond science.

Also a friend who was in a terrible car crash in which she was drug 91 feet, half of her face was torn off and failed a brain test what ever it's called and the doctor told her mother to pull the plug but the mother prayed about it then mysteriously the next day the mother went to touch her and she pushed her hand off her the doctor performed another test and she passed again the doctor said science had no answer for this. Granted she still does have a long recovery. That is what I mean I should have stated it better

I believe in God, I also believe that the Bible was written by men, and as such it does not necessarily require a literal interpretation. If there is a place for creationism and inteligent design, it is in a philosophy or Humanities class. In fact, I think those are the perfect forum for those subjects. I am not going to rehash other people's arguments, as I feel that some other posters have stated the case of evolution far more eloquently than I could. I will say this however, it is possible to be a Christian and support evolution.

Theory: A scientific theory is an established and experimentally verified fact or collection of facts about the world. Unlike the everyday use of the word theory, it is not an unproved idea, or just some theoretical speculation.

Ok lets agree to disagree. You have valid points and I think I have some vaild points
