Damn...lol.  So how long was he a member of the team?  And that was his first game ever?  That sucks.

Ya, I'm almost positive he had never played in a game and was on the team for 4 years (obviously being on JV for at least part of the time). These were the only minutes he played in his basketball career.

Its like a modern day Rudy.

He was actually the manager of the team, then he got his opportunity to play yesterday. Awesome story.

My question is how the hell didn't this kid get into a game before this.  I haven't seen the video, but even if he was just left wide open, to hit 6 three's in 4 mins and score 20 points clearly shows the kid can play.  Great story for a kid with autism like that.

Because a lot of coaches in HS are dicks who have no business coaching kids.

A kid on my HS basketball team, had not played one single second in a game in the 4 years he was on the team. When the final minute of the last game of his senior year came around, the kid said "screw this" and put himself in the game. Our coach called a time out and yanked him off the court.

It saddens me that this kid scored more points in four minutes (over double in fact) than I scored in two seasons.

It seems like a lot of coaches here try to get kids in the game if they know the lead is insurmountable....like 18 points with 2 minutes left. I know we were getting beat badly enough that a team playing us put in a special ed kid. Then one of my best friends stole the basketball from him (in his defense, he came from behind the kid and wasn't aware of what he was doing, I assume). I know when the same kid was a sophomore, our sophomore team, which was a year ahead of me, made sure he scored in the final seconds of a game.
